Thank you for a lovely stay! The rooms, kitchen, and bathroom were very comfortable and clean. Staff were absolutely lovely. Breakfast was delicious, and the location cannot be beat for charm and ease of transportation.

Great Location in Central Reykjavík The location is excellent—right near Hallgrímskirkja Church. We parked at the nearby P3 parking area, which was free on the weekend. The church, the Old Harbour, and most major attractions were all within walking distance. Check-in was a little complicated because it took us some time to find the correct building and then the right entrance among several doors. Other than that, everything was good. The room was clean and comfortable.Overall, I would give it 4.5 stars, with 5 stars for the location.

Great location, reasonable price, good breakfast. For the most part we really appreciated it, We wrongly assumed “shared bathroom” meant that shower & toilet would be shared with another room and it turned out it was for 4 double rooms - and people from the floor above came down to use facilities because there was the same situation on there floor. - it’s really not ample enough for the number of people.

Stayed at the Aurora twice within 10 days in Sept 2026. Room was clean, shared washroom clean, breakfast room clean and breakfast the usual for iceland’s basic. First nights stay was problem free. What has annoyed me is room 33. DO NOT accept this room. The bathroom fan runs into the night. The bathroom is on the other side of the wall near the bed AND the emergency exit light, 40watts or more in turquoise, shines brightly without a way to dim or turn off. One could argue the light is important but since the room is 100sq feet or less it could at least be dimmable. An analogy would be sleeping under the midnight sun without blackout drapes. I have written to the Aurora asking for a refund because there is no way to know of this beaming light until it is bedtime and one turns out the lights. I have not received a reply. By lights out time there isnt a staff person on site to help change rooms or suggest a resolution. There is an antique cell phone for after hours extreme emergencies. I just want a refund. PLS DO NOT Accept Room 33 if you expect to sleep. Barb in Vancouver
