1st room was very dirty. Trash left in bathroom from prior guests, extremely stained and dingy feeling carpets. Smelled. Front desk attendant came up and said "It does even smell THAT bad". Um. It shouldn't smell at all. They moved us to another room but it was like we were being unreasonable. Had stated there before without problems so was very disappointed with this room and staff.

We had a great time staying here. We went for a family wedding and the stay made for a wonderful time. The beds were comfy and the rooms were clean. The people who work there do a super job of making you feel welcome.

Really pricy for the town
Ive stayed here a few times, each time decent to good. This time, the service was great as usual, however, the room was not clean. There was black hair all over the bathroom floor and the shower walls. The tub drained really really slow, there was a couple of pieces of chewed gum on the floor at the end of the bed, and a water bottle cap under the table between the beds. The beds were not comfortable, lumpy, and the AC was not only partially functioning, but was really really loud each time it turned on. It actually woke me and my partner up about 3 times throughout the night and into the early morning. Also, the curtains are not black out curtains, they let in a lot of sunlight in the morning. You cannot pull the thicker curtains all the way closer due to the rack only allows the curtain to cover about a foot to a foot and a half on each side then stops. Breakfast was decent. Pool was decent and stays open until 12am. I stayed in room 120 for reference. Also, the room was $180 a night, or $375 for 2 nights. In Freeport. There was no events going on for the price to be this expensive.

After a long drive we checked in and were assigned a room that smelled horribly of smoke and mold. There were dead bugs on the floor and the carpet was very dirty. My wife and children could not stay in the room due to their asthma with the smells. We requested a different room and were a second. The second room had the same smell. The front desk attendant then stated that the rooms on the second floor might be better for us. We then went to the second floor and examined a room there. That room was much better as far as smell. There were hairs on the beds as well as large red stains on the carpeting. This was the last available room so we had the stay in that one. The beds were not very comfortable but we had no choice.

The property is located in northwest Illinois a very scenic area to the west towards the Mississippi River. The property is an older but well maintained property. The room is nice and comfortable.

This is, by far, the best hotel in the Freeport area. I have stayed in a lot of hotels and this is one of the best I have ever stayed in. We were in town for our daughter's wedding and were there for two days. I talked to a variety of staff members....custodial, breakfast and front desk....all were friendly and helpful. The rooms and general facility were very clean and beds were very comfortable! Absolutely loved the free cookies at the front desk. Breakfast can be hit or miss with hotels, but this hotel and a variety of hot and cold options.....very tasty all around. It is evident that this staff works hard and they are managed/led very well.

Pec Thing stay
We always stay here when coming for the Pec flea market. Great place to stay but the price the last few years has made this very expensive compared to other hotels in the area.
