PROS
Our room and bathroom were clean, with all the usual amenities.
Very useful having free ice-cold drinking water and tea and coffee at all times in the shared dining area (meant we never spent money on bottles of water, and could take water with us when we were sight-seeing).
I think the hotel has changed what it offers for the free breakfast over time - so some of the photos of a buffet with bread and cheese etc are out-of-date. We had packaged pastries that were lovely and just enough in the morning before heading out (and eating pasta and gelato for the rest of the day!). It is free as well, so really can not complain.
Location is excellent - there is a wonderful deli and bakery just next to the hotel (Volpetti dal 1870).
CONS
Be aware that the reception (with hotel staff) is only open until 4pm every day (despite any messages, emails or WhatsApp messages that the hotel admin might send you).
Also worth noting that our room was one of the 4 that are right next to the reception desk and the staircase from the entrance - if you get one of these rooms you will hear (very clearly and loudly) anyone who comes in and out of the hotel (talking, walking up the staircase, the front door of the building) as there is no sound-proofing. We heard the people talking loudly in the room next door as well, but this is nowhere near as bad as the people coming in and out at different times in the evening and overnight.
