Beautiful building for its age and well maintained by owners. Amazing views from upstairs lounge & breakfast room. Breakfast is among the best I’ve had, service excellent. Great value for money,

Like going back in time

I honestly can't recommend this place. It is dated, the service was surly throughout and the breakfast was mediocre. I'm still not quite sure how you burn filter coffee so badly to make it undrinkable but somehow it was achieved by the Glendale.

Delightful accomodation with great views

Everything about my stay was good, good sized comfortable single room. Lovely lounge to relax and watch tv or gaze out at the fantastic view. Friendly host and nice choice of breakfast. Accomodation tastefully decorated to suit the building. Character and atmosphere perfdct.

A little bit dated, but that’s just decor. Bedroom was spacious and comfortable. Shower head needed a good scrub and the duvet cover smelled a little dusty but room was otherwise clean. Breakfast was filling and hot.

Lovely Victorian guest house with beautiful view over the bay. Well positioned for short walk into Rothesay centre. Excellent breakfast. Friendly hosts. Would definitely recommend and hope to return.

Run by dictatorship

The owners seemed be dicrirs if your not happy then tough, they come down on you like a ton of bricks to change a rating. Rooms was that small to be comfortable in Had requested a seaview. Could see there was on e room vacant with a seaview, despite being told there wasn't. Left a day early, and wasn't offered a penny, despite only staying 2 nights instead of 3 Avoid this Muppet show.

Bute-iful (sorry!)

Cracking views. Easy to find, right on the seafront with views across the harbour and up the sea lochs. 400 yards from town centre. Plenty of parking on road outside. Host was really friendly, and quick-witted. Our view was to the rear and the steep cliff behind, but all guests have access to a large sitting room with aforementioned views. Breakfast was a different choice each day and was really good. Recommended.

Best in Rothesay

What can I say, the house was so unique. The bedroom and comfort and sea view, amazing. Staff, breakfast, area was so good, we will be back. My husband Eddie has never been to Rothesay. I myself once. We were made so welcome ..thank you to the Glendale Guest house. X

A good place to stay on Bute.

Kier was very welcoming. We had a lovely comfortable room and the most delicious breakfasts. Would recommend.

Near the pier and on the esplanade. Handy for the town and with parking easy to use. The building is quirky and attractive though the scaffolding was a shame even if needed. The room was comfortable and had all we expected as amenities. The owner was helpful and the welcome was warm. The breakfasts were also delicious.

The property is very local to the ferry terminal. The owner was very hospitable, and gave recommendations for eating out in the evenings. Room was adequate. Although there was no sea vie, the guest lounge was enormous, and each time I visited, I was the only person there. Breakfast was impressive.
