Ski Weekend at the Briar Lea Inn

The room and private bathroom, as well as the pub were all wonderful! The owner and her dtr are super attentive and lovely. The only downside to our experience was that the walls are so thin you can hear conversations (and snoring) from the adjacent rooms. We were up half the night on our second night because a person in another room was snoring extremely loudly and we could hear it with so much clarity that it felt like he was actually in our room. We used our white noise app on our iPhone and this helped. Otherwise, it was a lovely stay and super close to skiing at Sunday River!

The owner Dani and her husband were very nice a super accommodating. My daughter and I spent time in their English Pub after skiing and had great conversation listening to the right volume live music. I would definetly recommend.

Undisclosed in booking page about live music downstairs, room was not the same as requested. Service was fine, room was good, single street facing window with shutters requested to remain closed due to noise dampeners, meaning room was very dark.

Great location near Sunday River. Great pub with good food. Owners were very helpful and attentive. Room was clean and in good shape. I don’t think you could do better if you are traveling to Sunday River for skiing. I would go back.

The owners are very nice and accommodating. Sometimes the power goes out due to being an old building and the fuse blows. This happened twice during our stay. Good for 1 night or just passing through.

Old world charm at this Inn. Small and intimate. Pub and dining area the same. The owner/Innkeeper, Dani, is a wonderful, friendly woman. Super convenient to Sunday River. Nice breakfast too.

If you like pubs you’ll like this place.

It’s attached to a pub that plays loud live music that can be heard when you’re trying to sleep. Otherwise, a good place to stay.

Not relaxing...good food though!

We really wanted to like this little B&B...we typically go for vintage lodges with character and this place looked right up our ally. I want to start by saying that the pub was delicious and the service was good. The room was okay. We were not allowed to open the only window in the room because of an “invention” to keep the noise out from the road. In result, our room was very dark. The walls were paper thin, we heard our neighbor every morning knocking on her friends door at 6:00 am and talking through the door to make plans. It woke us up every time. The B&B owner was a little overbearing. While trying to relax and take a nap a few hours after arriving, she knocked on our door numerous times and kept calling our names out loud. We ignored to knocks to nap and we could hear her walking past our room trying to see if we were in there. She was attempting to give us our receipt from checking in...that could have defiantly waited until the next day. She proceeded to text and call us at 12:00 at night to get our breakfast order. We felt as though we couldn’t relax while at this inn and that we didn’t have any privacy. Unfortunately we won’t be staying there again.

Ikon Pass tour

Dani and Enrico were very inviting and helpful. They could not have been more so. Breakfast was outstanding!! The property has much character and history. A little updating would be appreciated. I would not renovate, because that would take away the charm, but it does need some maintenance.

Fantastic Stay...Again!

This was our second visit to this charming inn and it was just as great as the first time! More improvements/enhancements continue to be made. Highly recommended! We will be returning again before too long.
