"Bahia Escape at Runaway Bay is a great resort. It’s still in the process of fully opening. However, it didn’t impact our great time. The staff are so helpful, friendly, and professional. One Pot of Rice, Uton, the pool bar staff, Daren, and just everyone. We didn’t meet any staff that was not stellar. One ala cart restaurant is open each night. They have three open right now. All three were wonderful with the Indian or Brazilian being tops. The buffets were standard but good. Jamaican night in Jazmine's are the best food I had. The grounds are well kept, the housekeeping was on point, and the front of house was amazing. I have no complaints!"
"Rooms were clean for the most part. The air was working on and off during the day it was not working but at night it worked just fine. Floors were wet and very slippery. Food was mid and we saw a roach at the buffet while eating dinner."
"This property in Jamaica is great!
The check-in let us down. We did book with the Privilege service upgrade. Their is a small dedicated section for persons booked with this service which is nice, however, the check-in time to get the room after the scheduled 3PM check-in was over 2hrs. The check-in process was not smooth. Also, we were not offered any welcome drinks upon arrival. It was hectic inside the lobby area as well.
The room was excellent size, very spacious with a balcony jacuzzi on the top floor. The room could have been cleaned better, especially the floors. It was well stocked, Privilege amenities included throughout the room which was thoughtful. Very nice double rain shower head, double vanity and private water closet.
The pool was gorgeous and was perfect temperature while being cleaned daily (mornings).
There was a coconut stand by the main pool selling coconuts for $8USD which was a bit pricey but the convenience of being opened daily was great.
There are multiple bars everywhere, you will not go far without finding a refreshing beverage.
The Privilege service was worth it for the added benefits such as Privilege lounge, dedicated bar with premium liquors, premium upscale restaurant for breakfast, lunch & dinner, dedicated concierge for reservations & anything in between.
The entertainment was excellent including the night time activities.
We recommend staying at Ocean Coral Spring & look forward to connecting with management in the future."
"The resort is beautiful and very clean, which is extremely important to my wife and me. We spent most of our week at the Club Level pool, and that part of the experience was truly delightful.
The downside was the maid service. Our room wasn’t cleaned until around 5 PM, which is unacceptable for a resort at this level. Even stranger, the turn‑down service came only about 90 minutes after the late cleaning. After multiple complaints, the schedule was finally corrected on the third day, and the room was cleaned in the late morning as it should be.
The food was adequate at best — nothing particularly memorable.
Another disappointment was the ocean. the beach chairs and services were delightful; however, the water wasn’t really usable during our stay because of the seaweed buildup along the shoreline, which made it unappealing to go in. We ended up using the pool almost the entire time.
The initial check‑in experience also missed the mark. It didn’t feel welcoming; we had to wait on the driveway for a bellhop to register us with 20 other people, then take a short golf‑cart ride to the Club Level check‑in area. Our room wasn’t ready until about 4:30–5:00 PM.
Once we finally got into the room, it was excellent. We had a fantastic oceanfront view from Building 5 with nothing blocking us. Overall, it’s a beautiful property with great views and amenities, but several service issues took away from the experience."
"Positives
Staff - The staff was very helpful and pleasant.
Grounds - Immaculate
Activities - There are many activities to choose from. You literally cant be bored unless you want to be.
Food - They have a wide variety each day
Negatives:
Rooms - Looks and feels average. There was nothing special about it.
Room Service - The quantity of itiems placed in the room fell short as if they didbt expect us.
Food - While they had a wide variety, the food tasted like it could be better seasoned."
"Owner Ms Annika Manager Ms Natalie
A 24hr water failure and appalling management made this my worst travel experience.
5/22 Lukewarm water & low pressure.
5/23 Water shut off mid-shower late night.
5/24 No water all day. Used bottled water for hygiene at 8am. Asked Ms Annika who claimed a main break & tank was being filled. When returned 8:30pm still no water. I discreetly tried to speak to Ms. Natalie, who relayed message through server to say a plumber was working on it. My driver helped me source two gallons of water. When I returned the security checked on the status with the plumber who informed he was fixing a crack. Late night a trickle returned, but the toilet wouldn't flush; I manually bucket-flushed it using the wet bar sink and garbage pail.
5/25 Asked Ms. Natalie to tell the owner my concern about the no water and that I believed some type of compensation would be due and I would like to discuss it before my departure time at 10am.
5/26 Low pressure fed only half the showerhead. Management dodged me until security called Ms. Annika at 9:50 AM. She arrived at 9:58 AM—two minutes before my shuttle pickup.
Ms Annika lied repeatedly, claiming no outage happened and that we never spoke Sunday. Ms Natalie stayed muted, intimidated by her boss. I proposed a fair compromise: give back cash deposit & room charges, which was less than 1/2 night be comped, eventho customary for 1 full night’s refund. She refused, used the cash to settle the bill. No compensation offered"
