We stayed at Vila Verde for 2 weeks over Christmas and New Year in a huge apartment. It has a very relaxed and chilled out feel in the complex, an others mentioned parts need updating but this is being done. The staff are all polite and friendly from the security guards cheering me on my morning run to the reception staff being so helpful and the housekeeping services ensuring our room was always spotlessly clean. It’s a short walk, hotel shuttle or a €5 taxi to the hustle and bustle of Santa Maria where there’s lots to see and do. There is also a private beach which is quiet and peaceful too. We would definitely recommend and return here as it’s just the peaceful relaxing stay we were wanting.

The resort have couple of restaurants, a supermarket and a beach. You can take a bus or rent a car, but this is a walking distance from downtown. Overall value is excellent.

Staff was extremely nice and very helpful. I was able to rent a scooter onsite. There are many pools to enjoy and the beach and downtown area are very close by

Nice and quiet

Nice and quiet hotel. Friendly staff. The room was spacious and clean. Pool Area was calm and easy to get sunbeds. Sunbeds at Ponta Preta Beach also included. Quiet in the evenings, no entertaiment. We went to Santa Maria forcrestaurant every day.

The apartment was huge and really well furnished and a full kitchen. Pool was lovely and easy. walk to the beach and Santa Maria. I wanted a really quiet holiday and that’s what I got :) The resort is lovely and it’s such a shame that there’s not more people there-but to my favour

Lovely staff let down by lack of investment

Lovely staff, hotel needs refurbishment, wifi only in reception & at pool. Breakfast really basic. Very odd development/area - not sure if its because i came in the off season, but it feels a bit post-apocalyptic!

Hotel for active traveller

If you dont want to be a part of a huge all-inclusive resortlife, this is your choice. Cozy, well-working apartment with nice pool area. Room was spacious, clean and functional. Perfect with kids. Quiet area and 20 minutes walk to Santa Maria or 5 euro taxi drive (5min)

The absolute worst experience abroad I have ever had. Zero communication, unclean sheets and dilapidated hotel and amenities. As a solo traveller it felt unsafe, no security at all and the room doors don’t lock from inside and it was like a ghost town, no restaurants or anything nearby. I stayed one night of the 5 I booked after finding cockroaches in the middle of the night. I have yet to have any communication from them after the front desk refused to talk to me about a refund or compensation for the nights I was not staying.

The service was friendly, breakfast was very good and since hotel is located out of Santa Maria, they provide free shuttle to the center. Hotel itself is outdated and rooms are NOT equipped with hair drier or iron machine. We tried to get the hairdrier on 3 occasions and it was not available so you will have to let your hair dry at the beach or pool, which will be quite disappointing for any holiday resort.

The bed was very uncomfortable and there was only 1 small pillow. The toilet seat was broken. The breakfast was ok but coffee machine was broken and causing problems for everyone. The juice machine also didn't work properly. We went to use the pool but couldn't stay as they had decided to strim all the lawn and the strimmer was constant and really noisy and sending dust everywhere. We went to a different pool but there was no water in it. We tried a third pool which looked nice, but were asked to move on as we were not staying in the apartments connected to that pool, even though it was part of the same resort and there were no other people using the pool. Overall this resort feels very tired and uncared for. I would not stay here again.

The pool bar staff were so unprofessional. Ignored people and laughed at me when I asked if they had the Cape Verdean Malta drink. They were so rude. I have never seen such bad costuner service in Sal before. The front desk staff we very nice and polite however. The place needs upgrades as the bathroom is old but was clean, the bed was unconfortble though and very loud at any movement. The place is generally is good. The bad part is that I booked this layover to work but was unable because they had no wifi for 24 hours and offered no solutions.
