The Inn is small, quiet, and comfortable. The cats and dog on the property brought me smiles and the braver/friendlier cat was a lot of fun. The small pond attracts beautiful wildlife including my first tiger heron! I felt safe, had hot showers, and slept well. I wished the kitchen was serving but it was off-season and I found delicious food in town. Having a rental car made it easy to get to downtown and explore.

Great facility - I must say, however, one member of the cleaning staff is quite rude if you are showering when she wants to clean and go home and one member of "security" (the new guy), does not have a sniff about his job responsability. Nor does he care. He locks the access door through the lobby, making you walk around to the exit gate - which he leaves unlocked - so that he does not have to lift his head from his phone. First hand experiencing both signs of neglect of responsabilities.

This place stole my heart!

I absolutely loved my stay at the Drift Inn in Cayo. Bike rental was cheap and convenient, though I wish they had bike locks. Air conditioning was so nice to have. Great atmosphere, live music and karaoke on weekends, staff were all very social and welcoming. Made me feel right at home. Their restaurant also had some of the best food I’ve had in all of Belize. If you like Belizean culture, sometimes they have the Garifuna Collective play a concert, sadly I missed it! I would recommend this place for solo travelers, couples, or groups.

While the staff was very welcoming and happy to oblige, the building itself could use some love. The on-site restaurant had a very limited selection, despite the menu. Many items were unavailable. The toilet in our room and by the pool would plug or simply struggle to fully flush most times. What bothered us most was the noise. We had a room on the back side of the property and it was VERY loud of traffic at all hours. The dogs, while cute and friendly, would bark late at night or very early in the morning. All of this seriously impacted our ability to have a good night’s sleep. The price was very budget-friendly, but we were willing to pay a little more for a better rest so we decided to check out a day early.

Drift Inn is delightful, nothing spectacular about it, but the front desk staff were awesome! They arranged all our tours, called a taxi whenever we needed, informed us of kitchen closures, and gave us fresh towels after 4 days of not seeing the cleaning staff. They did a great job! Bikes are available for rent, but these bikes are single speed, not comfortable, not easily adjusted, and poorly suited for the hills in San Ignacio. We tried them one dsy and just walked or took a taxi if it was evening. The room was vlean when we moved in, and we were fine with not having the rooms cleaned daily, but you may prefer to ask for daily cleaning. Apparently it's available. The food on site was really good, but we found so many truly special restaurants in San Ignacio nearby that it was hard to pass them by!

Great for the few days we had in San Ignacio.

For the budget, this place was excellent. The rooms were clean, showers were hot and powerful, the grounds were pretty and included both a pool and a pond with pretty trees. The Drift Inn isn’t the Four Seasons but it is a good place to spend a few days. HINT: get a pina colada at the pool bar - they’re delicious.

I booked myself a single king room. Upon arrival i found they had given my room to someone else and put me in a room with bunkbeds and a broken tv. I needed the basics like toothpaste and shampoowhich they offered non of. Not even to buy in their store. Literally used a bar of soap the whole time which was no biggie as i dont like to complain. The resturant isnt marked. I had no clue where to order or even stand or if there was waitresses... like nothing was posted anywhere. I asked the receptionist and she was annoyed from the begining. I ended up ordering food thru her ...she never told me to sit in the lobby which was actually the restaurant and someone will come get my order. I ordered food the entire first day this way. The first morning after ordering my food i chose a spot by the pond which was pretty. They had turtles in it and fish. The railing was broken/owner came out yelling repairs across the resturant to maintenance/After the long wait for my food I ate a few bites, went to get more coffee & turned to find a cat on my table eating my food/Next morning i wanted to change my order from one ToGo to 2 orders ToGo, i couldnt find my waitress/The owner was right there so i asked her/She went and changed the order and humiliated my waitress/Then belittled her to me/ that night i ordered a burger and waited over 45/After I left i was contacted about sunglasses i left in room/they said they would hold them until my friend cohld get them.

We had a wonderful time at the Drift Inn. We had booked it for 2 nights, and decided to stay a 3rd night. One night they had a local drum band preforming, which was amazing! What I did not like was witnessing, a firing of an employee in front of people!!! Very disturbing and disrespectful!

A lovely little reprieve.

We stayed here for a week while exploring the local area. The room was good and the bed was very comfortable. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. The restaurant served excellent food and there was entertainment several times during the week.
