Accessible only by boat, this peaceful lakeside village offers stunning views of Lake Atitlán and volcano-dotted horizons. Hike to Indian Nose viewpoint in nearby San Juan for sunrise panoramas, or take yoga classes at one of the wellness retreats along the shore.
"Just a 5-minute tuk-tuk ride from both Panajachel and Santa Catarina Palopó, the location is super convenient yet tucked away in a quiet, peaceful area where you’ll truly find relaxation.
I stayed in the Iguana room, which was great. It doesn’t have a fridge, but the restaurant and kitchen area downstairs can keep your items refrigerated if needed. Very practical!
Although I didn’t get a chance to try the bar, I had dinner at the restaurant and was impressed—the Syrian dish was absolutely exquisite and paired perfectly with the wine I brought. (There’s a Q50 corkage fee, which I found very reasonable given the quality of the food and the priceless view).
The property also has a traditional Mayan sauna, which I didn’t get to try this time but definitely will in the future. It’s all done in a traditional, manual way, so you need to arrange it in advance. I highly recommend guests take advantage of this unique and relaxing experience in nature.
