We really enjoyed our stay here. The location is ideal, a 5 minute walk to the beach and main area for restaurants. The rooms are very spacious and clean. The breakfast included is great. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend.

We had a great stay in Akuamarina in Santa Marta. The reception was very helpful in organizing excursions and the hotel driver Mauri was wonderful! He was very patient with our poor Spanish, explained some of the history Santa Marta and even took us to see a couple beautiful viewpoints he recommended. I would stay at Hotel Akuamarina again next time I'm in Santa Marta.

Bed comfortable and staff friendly. Had some plumbing issues taken care of by maintenance. Quite noisy from the services at the cemetery next door at 6:30am (yes, am) to late night events in the area. Breakfast filling with several options. Allowed us to store luggage away for a day getaway which was a plus. Like many hotels in area water is cold to lukewarm depending on time of day. Hot tub on rooftop dirty we couldn’t use.

Super base for Santa Marta

Clean, close to central city area, friendly staff who helped with taxi arrangements, storing luggage and eager to help. Rooms (we stayed at 2 different rooms, due to repeat visits) were clean and quiet. Improvement: 1) Have dispenser for soap, shampoo rather than single-use products 2) Have a water-filler tank in the lobby for refill of water (very hot in Santa Marta), free or at a small charge.
