Reef Haven Belize

"This resort was a dream come true and would have been a perfect 10/10 if not for one issue at checkout. The location is a true tropical paradise. The remote setting makes it feel like you have the island to yourself, and even the 30-minute boat ride across the Caribbean adds to the sense of escape. The staff were incredibly friendly, attentive, and accommodating throughout our stay. The food was outstanding. This is not a buffet-style resort, but there were plenty of menu options, everything was made fresh, and the dishes highlighted local and seasonal ingredients. The property is spacious, so the pool, bar, and relaxation areas never felt crowded. We also enjoyed the variety of activities, including ceviche-making and mixology classes. Despite the remote location, we felt safe exploring nearby beaches and trails. There was some seaweed, but that’s simply part of visiting this region at certain times of year, and the resort did its best to manage it. Our only disappointment involved an excursion booked through the resort. We repeatedly confirmed that the quoted price included all taxes and marine park fees, but at checkout we were told those charges were extra, increasing the cost by about 25%. The issue wasn’t the additional expense—it was the lack of transparency. Overall, the resort is beautiful, the staff are wonderful, and the experience is unforgettable. We would gladly return and still recommend it to others."

"Our room was lovely and clean. We enjoyed our salt scrub and massage on the beach while listening to the waves and the breeze in the Palm Trees. Staff were friendly and helpful. Excellent food at the on site restaurant. Note of concern was the pool looked a little cloudy. We did appreciate all the work that was being done to clear the beach of the sea grass."

"Amazing and beautiful!!! This is the best place you can stay if you don’t mind being away from the hustle and bustle of the city. It’s set pretty far from town so the drive on a a golf cart can be a bit much, however, I consider that totally worth it. The property was well maintained. The rooms/villas were so cute. The shower was the best! Waking up to the sunrise and seeing the beach like 20 feet away was one of the best feelings ever. So relaxing and refreshing."

"The place was absolutely charming, it is off grid but you wouldn’t really know. It’s got great beach access and loads of great food options around. Secret beach is just down the path and it is the best beach in the island. Jaime is the chef on the property and his food is to die for! Kayla is also very attentive and they both made our stay comfortable. It’s a very boutique hotel experience, not many rooms on the property so you feel like it’s a very personalized experience."

"Helpful staff, very polite security guards. They constantly checked on us and offered suggestions on activities. The food at Gems restaurant is excellent. The sargassum was a little unpleasant but nothing against Sapphire."
