"Beautiful view from the rooms on the hvalfjörður side, the dinning room and lounge area were outstanding. The staff were very helpful and attentive, we very much appreciated their attention to us as tired travelers on our first night in Iceland. The hotel manager was extremely approachable, friendly, he answered all of our questions, and gave us great information for the next few days of our adventure. The property is under new ownership as of early 2026 and they are making visible improvements. The dinner was excellent and the breakfast was also very good. We asked for our thermos to be filled with boiling water and we had hot water for tea and coffee all day! The bed was very comfortable although they are upstairs in a loft. The hotel is very quiet and we did not hear noise from other guests. Highly recommended, and we would stay here again, especially as a base hotel to hike to the Glymer waterfall on a future trip. "

"The rooms were very well clean well heated and very cozy. The mountain view and parking was appreciated. It was nice to park right next to the camping pods. It was nice to be able to see the northern lights from the property. "

"Very nice apartment, easy parking, excellent location.We had a room with the mountain and river view it was excellent. We also saw the Northern lights in a dark quiet place behind the hotel. Our stay was just awesome! We had a good experience and would stay there again if we visited again. "

"The staff member at the front desk was very kind on the day we checked in, as well as the day we checked out. There’s no breakfast served during the winter but there is coffee/tea and some biscuits and spreads laid out for travellers which was very nice! We were also able to see the northern lights from the hot tub out back! An amazing bonus! "

"Ended up staying here twice on our trip since we were passing that way again and needed a place to stay. This isn't the most amazing hotel you'll ever stay in, but it's solid. Comfortable beds, nice staff, decent food, and not a bad price. Sure the interiors are a bit dated, but it's not bad by any stretch. It's a solid option for a place to stay in the area!"

"We had donner and breakfast at the hotel. The dinner menu was limited as it was out of season but the beefburger was nice. Breakfast was good. Only reason I gave it 3 stars as it was really noisy. A number of cars parked in front of reception and I was awoken at 1am by a bunch of noisy people having snow ball fights and making alot of noise. They were there for a really long time."

"Clean, comfortable room, with excellent view to north. Was able to see northern lights all three nights from the comfort of room while temperatures outside were -15 degrees c windchills. Great location if hunting for northern lights. Kitchen had utincils for two of us. "
