"Nice rural location. Pleasant walk of about an hour into Melrose via Leaderfoot bridge and sight of Trimontium. The cottage was cold when we arrived. We used the electric heaters provided but they weren’t quite up to the job. Cottage could have been a bit cleaner. Good parking and WiFi."

"We were in town for the Race Across Scotland - crew stayed here throughout the week, and two of us who ran it were here after we finished. Was a close drive to Cocksburnpath, and to other surrounding areas. Great spot for 4 folks, and having laundry was a huge bonus. Lovely property."

"The property was good, upside down property, set in a lovely harbour town. Locals friendly. Amazing ice cream shop. The attached fish and chip shop was very busy too. Parking was roadside, not guaranteed, opposite the property. We arrived at the end of the Herring Queen Festival, which was packed out. We struggled to even unload, but obviously that wasn't something we knew about prior to booking. After that had finished, parking wasn't really a problem. A few niggles with property but it didn't...

"The house and facilities are fantastic, in fact it felt so homely and welcoming we did not want to come home. "Spacious room, lots of drawers and a wardrobe for storage. It was very quiet during our stay although there were plenty of other guests. Very comfortable bed, and the fan was great in the hot weather. Food was good (breakfast and dinner) and staff were helpful with gluten free options. Welcoming, comfortable hotel and we'll be back for another visit."
