"Air conditioning leaked, used an ice bucket from the kitchen to catch the water. Lamp fixed & kettle replaced at my request. Room was cleaned once at my request after 6 days. I was then told it was every two days, & that didn’t happen. Then told it was a misunderstanding & it’s up to me to ask for the service. Unimpressed. Bins & ash tray not emptied once. Would not recommend a superior room - no privacy from kitchen directly across & no privacy curtains. choose one of the other/more modern ones. Would not recommend for a long-term stay "

"Our stay at Kalandara Resort in Lombok was truly breath-taking. We chose this resort for our honeymoon, and it exceeded every expectation—we did not regret our decision for a single moment. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that every detail had been thoughtfully considered. Little touches like slippers, Crocs for the infinity pool, and a Bluetooth speaker added a special charm to our experience and made our stay feel even more luxurious and personal. What really made our time unforgettable was the staff. Every single member of the team was warm, attentive, and genuinely hospitable, always greeting us with a smile and making us feel so welcome throughout our stay. The food was another highlight—fresh, delicious, and with great variety. The portions were generous, and we’re pretty sure we left having gained a few happy pounds! The resort itself was spotless, beautifully maintained, and incredibly peaceful. We truly miss our time at Kalandara Resort and would return in a heartbeat. "Room was lovely, great peaceful location. Meticulously maintained gardens that dropped beautiful flowers. Located directly in front of beach & close to great restaurants and incredible deli style supermarket with a range of fresh international foods on offer. Breakfast served was cooked fresh, beautifully presented & coffee was lovely. Staff were kind and friendly, and also gave us space to simply relax. A very pleasant experience, highly recommend."

"Unless you pay for the expensive package, you need to be very mobile. All bathrooms in the reasonable rate category come with bathtubs only. There are no grab bars or anything for support. The walls have signs of humidity decay. The pool meant for everyone's use is very small considering. We paid to upgrade because of this. The website says the beach is close. Its not. Its a 35 minute walk. We paid for an all inclusive package. The kitchen had major issues. They tried hard but left things lacking. Also, be ready for a wakeup at 4 am or so bc this hotel seems to be right next to a speaker for the call to prayers. The spa is very nice. The beds are outrageously hard. We used the cushions from the patio furniture to help as the hotel had no way to fix this issue. "

"No Gymnasium or exercise facility. No mini bar in the room. No coffee pod machine in the room, not even a plunger and they refused to supply either. The pool at the Pool villas consistently carried leaf litter. Adding insult to injury, they have deliberately crippled WiFi calling on their Internet connection. When asked, they gave no reason for this. I emailed them about this and eight days later am still awaiting a response. I used the WiFi in the cafes in town to make WiFi calls. No other establishment I have stayed at in the last six months (about five) did this. The establishment is old and tired: I get the impression they're just waiting for an opportunity to knock it down and rebuild. 5 star? They're kidding. Maybe 25 years ago. Not now. The world has moved on and expectations have risen."
