Seyðisfjörður Guesthouse

"This guesthouse feels almost like a very small hotel but with shared bathrooms. Shared just means it isn't exclusively yours to use. There are locks on the bathroom/WC doors, and there were three or four places to go relieve yourself - and they are all 'private' in the sense that you are alone in the WC with a door to lock. This guesthouse had a wonderful kitchen, which we used to cook both dinner and breakfast. It also has a EXCELLENT automatic espresso maker coffee machine with very good coffee beans in it! After too many gas-station 'espressos', this was such a welcome thing to have! For real, I am grateful to the hosts who chose to spend a bit more to put good beans in their great machine. Also - kudos and gratitude to the hosts for making that machine complimentary! This place has a beautiful waterfall just half a KM behind it, and is walking distance to the waters of the fjord. Also, the town is just half a km up the road as well. Don't miss the hike up to Tvisonger! It is a great little 20 minute hike, with a rewarding experience in the sonic domes with a picturesque small waterfall nearby, and of course, epic fjord views."

"The family cottage we stayed in was nice; it was clean and had a nice couch and sitting area. The small kitchen was also very useful for making an early breakfast, since we left before the complimentary breakfast was served. The only detractor is that this place is very far from Egilstadir. The drive is on miles and miles of bumpy gravel roads to get there - at least a half an hour from Egilstaddir. I recommend any traveler ensure that they know this. On the other hand, it is a good place from which to venture out to Hafnarholmi in Bogarfjurdor Eystri to see the puffins at night, and a great place to launch out from to go to Studagil Canyon."

"Contact less check in experience was nice. Room was clean. Only complaint was one of the mattresses needs to be replaced. Was sunken in and very uncomfortable. Other mattress appeared to be much newer."
