Room was very clean and we had a great view from the top floor. The location couldn't get better with most places within 10 minutes walking distance. One star less due to the tiny bathroom, and be careful with the low ceiling and door frames if you're close to 6 ft. Overall, we had a great stay.

This is more like a hostel for younger people I'd say.. very small rooms for a family of 3 with luggage.. but beds were comfy.. only one pillow each and really cramped but great staff and location!

This hotel is very well located, you have restaurants, stores and tourist attractions at walking distance. In addition, there is a taxi station right in front of the hotel (very important to go to the train/bus station). Last but not least, the staff was very kind. Highly recommended!

Siena is Magical

We were in the attic room. Heed the warnings about large luggage. We were fine with carry ons, but we got stuck waiting for another couple struggling to get their very large bags up the tiny spiral staircase. Beautiful views from the attic rooms. I have stayed at this hotel multiple times, it’s ideally situated, a coffee shop steps away is a bonus every morning. Staff is friendly, rooms clean, area safe. Will return again.

La Perla is in a great location. Note there is no elevator and about 30 steps to the floor where the door to the rooms is located. Some rooms, you need to navigate a narrow spiral staircase. Luggage could be an issue… The room was basic but fine, bathroom on the small side and the toilet…if you are tall…sit diagonal on the toilet so your knees don’t smash against the wall. Basically…a cross between a hotel and hostel. Towels were like table clothes…shower leaked from under the curtain… the shower head was not very strong but the hot water was great. It was unusually cool and I did not have super sufficient clothing but I could not heat the room with the radiator and relied on extra blankets to keep me warm. For that matter the wall unit didn’t turn on…at all. The cleaning people were good. The towels were the thinnest of any hotel I have ever stayed at - like a small tablecloth. No face towel only hand and body towels. One of the hand towels I used so I did slip after taking a shower that leaked out of the pan because it didn’t touch the floor. All in all, it is in a great location and sufficient. I only saw one employee twice - once upon check-in and then randomly the next day. Did not see anyone at checkout but left my key on a table with others who had done the same.

Very old establishment, with poor room access (no elevator and quite small room). AC was off on arrival which resulted in air being stuffy and smelly, once AC was turned on it was ok. Very small bathroom and shower. Check in closes at 8pm, but the staff might wait if called in advance. Parking is not available at hotel which is inside ZTL (restricted traffic zone), a permit can be arranged by the hotel upon arrival, but then it requires to leave the ZTL in 45 min find a parking spot (not easy in Siena) and walk back. A valet parking is suggested by Hotel and it did work very well for us for 35euros/night/car - but you have to drive back the valet to the parking every time using the car or before leaving (not usually a problem since it is on the way out of Siena). Location was perfect, just behind Piazza del Campo. Overall, location downtown Siena is the best part of this hotel, the establishment itself is probably worse than an average Motel 6 in US.

The shower had no curtain, it flooded after one use, the picture of the hotel in the opening screen is across the piazza, nothing to do with the called hotel, had to go three floor up with our luggage, since was in a historic place…the parking was about 20 minutes walk
