"WHAT A FIND!!!! A real gem After being let down with our original booking, we found the Black Lion Hotel. It's set in a small, quiet village near the river. We had a superb evening meal, the pub was busy in both the bar and restaurant area all evening, which is always a good sign.... the food was superb, service was excellent The room we stayed in was quiet, clean, the bathroom was a good size, the bed was comfy. "There was no parking on site but was close to other pay and display car park nearby. Convenient spot to city centre. We lived on the top floor which was very hot but luckily there was a fan which helped a bit. The toilet was a bit small and my partner found it difficult to move in it. "

"A beautiful, well-maintained old (17C) building, complemented by the warm welcome from co-owner Elvira. We didn't meet her husband, but he was clearly hard at work in the kitchen. The breakfast was excellent, and the rooms comfortable. The rooms felt quite opulent, with large mirrors, stained glass, pretty décor, a well-stocked ensuite bathroom, and deep beds. We slept and ate well!"

"We stayed for a couple of nights while enjoying a short break in Llandudno. And it was excellent. The welcome was friendly, the room clean and comfortable with a modern en-suite, and the breakfast freshly cooked to perfection. Nothing was too much trouble with dairy and gluten free options being readily available. With free parking on the drive or street, and a short walk to the town centre Glenavon was ideally located. We will return if in the area."

"From the fantastic welcome to handing the room keys back our stay was excellent. The room and facilities felt spacious comfortable and immaculately clean. The added waters and fresh milk a lovely touch . The view from our room was stunning. The location was perfect for visiting the pier and promenade. The breakfast choices and pre order is fantastic. Our choices perfectly cooked and service was both caring and quick. I cannot recommend the Min Y Don enough. We will be back as soon as we can ....

"We stayed at Beachside as part of our grand tour of Wales. We were on the third floor, so it we got our cardio in for the day climbing them (there’s no lift). The owner was super helping us carry our luggage upstairs and also providing recommendations of places to eat and things to do in the area. The breakfast was really good, I particularly liked the breakfast special. Fantastic location close to the Great Orme, the Promenade, and several shops and restaurants. Highly recommended"

"The property is ideally suited for events at Venue Cymru, which is next door. We had a family room, fronting the promenade with a fantastic view of the bay.The hotel was renovated last year and there were many thoughtful touches. "Overall, great. Restaurant was not as good as other experiences but staff was great. Amazing location. Would caution staying on the top floor near the alley. Room so hot closing the window was not an option and the alley is used by those traveling to and from some of the pubs, so you can imagine the noise. Not the fault of the hotel but shows the reason it is one of their less expensive rooms. GREAT LOCATION!"
