Top Skalafell Ski Area Hotel Reviews
Fosshotel Reykjavik
10/10 Excellent
"The location is great—you can walk to city center. The view from the high-floor room was amazing. On the day I stayed, the parking lot was closed due to construction, so I had to park at a nearby parking facility. Parking in Zone P4 was free from 4:00 PM to 8:00 AM. The front desk staff kindly explained everything to me."
CityHub Reykjavik
10/10 Excellent
"The rooms are very small but that is to be expected and how you are saving money compared to staying at a traditional hotel. I was surprised by how quiet it was. The shared bathrooms were not an issue and they were well kept. I appreciated being able to use the refrigerator to store some groceries and save money on breakfast. The coffee machine was awesome and made mornings very convenient. The beer on draft and the draft alcohol shots were fabulous ideas, although I did not partake of them, I did see a lot of people in the lobby area so I assume other people were enjoying the alcohol. CityHub is literally a couple of blocks over from the main downtown area and just up the street from the bus stop. It was very convenient."

Arctic Comfort Hotel
8/10 Good
"The property is located outside of central Reykiavic. There is a nearby Netto grocery store. Most importantly, there are no parking cameras or fees. The description of dedicated parking lots in front or behind the hotel is not accurate. There are a handful of shared public parking spaces in front of the hotel. Rooms facing the front of the hotel bake in all day summer sun. Walking into one of these rooms feels like walking into an oven. There is no air conditioning. Just lucky, there was a cleaner present and he gave us 2 fans to use. This made a huge difference. There's nothing of tourist interest nearby. It's industrial and retail. The hotel is not staffed. No reception desk. Self-service. No room cleaning, unless you pay an additional fee. The entry door is heavy and slams loudly, shaking the building. Rooms near that end of the building will hear and feel it. There is no elevator. There is a vending machine in the stairway, though it was vandalized and the broken glass remained on the shelves and around the machine for the duration of our stay. The shower was excellent. Plenty of hot water. Hard to get that wrong in volcanic Iceland. The bathroom sink was wrong. Tiny and narrow. No way to wash hands without splashing on the floor. Highlights: it's cheap for Iceland, and a reprieve from the heavy and intricate parking dance more central places. Big plus, bathrooms are in the rooms--none of the issues of shared bathrooms that most guesthouses have."

Grandi by Center Hotels
10/10 Excellent
"The rooms were fantastic and staff was very friendly. The breakfast was delicious but I wish I had pre-purchased the breakfast buffet. It would have been less costly."
Alva Hotel Brautarholt
8/10 Good
"Clean comfortable room Easy to check in Nice bathroom Walking distance to downtown My only complaint was the black out curtains only covered half the windows, so minimal privacy as the building across could see inside our room and it didn't get completely dark."
KEX Hotel and Hostel Reykjavik
