"My sister & I went to Mt. Dora for a girls trip and after looking at several decent B&Bs that were fully booked, the Lakeside Inn came up as available. I love old hotels & houses so it was right up my alley. The price was very good for a two queen (or double) room. The room was spacious, which was nice, but there were several issues that were unacceptable to me, even at a decent price. I know it’s an old hotel, but they really need to update the rooms. There needs to be more outlets and also USB Plugs. There were a lot of older people like me there and even we use USB outlets believe it or not. I use a CPAP machine and need an outlet and the only outlet on the headboard side of the room was way back behind the middle of the bed, which was a challenge to get to. The headboard itself actually fell off the wall as I tried to get things situated. Not good. Also the bathroom didn’t have any space to put any toiletries. The small sink is fine but add a couple shelves and hooks to put your stuff on for gosh sake. Not to mention there was a long curly black hair hanging off one of the towels. Just yuck. While those were all important things the worst of everything was coming back into the room and finding a big roach crawling up the back of the door in our room!! I’ve stayed in hundreds of hotels in my lifetime and have never once seen a live roach running around my room! Told them at front desk and they asked if I wanted someone to come kill it. Nothing more."

"Beautiful hotel, conveniently located by the Pier, and all the shops and restaurants. The hotel is kept very clean, the breakfast buffet is awesome and the rooms are very comfortable and have remodeled bathrooms. We had a wonderful experience. It's dog friendly and is located across the street from the dog beach, just the cherry on the cake for us."

"I had an excellent stay at this hotel. The property was clean, comfortable, and beautifully updated, with modern technology integrated throughout the common areas. My room was spacious, quiet, and offered a wonderful view of the lake, making it the perfect place to relax after a busy day. What truly elevated the experience was the staff. Every employee I encountered was cheerful, welcoming, and genuinely helpful. The attention to detail was evident in the high-quality amenities, from the toiletries to the coffee provided in the room. Overall, the hotel delivered a first-class experience, and I would gladly stay here again."
