"This choice of accommodation was probably a bad one in a heatwave, but even without the room being like a furnace, the facilities left a little to be desired. The ceiling in the bathroom was all peeling, the room was tiny (two single beds) and the window opened out onto the exhaust from the kitchen which ran till closing time and then started again noisily at 7am. Frome is lovely and the location is great, but don't whatever you do stay there in a heatwave. We barely slept."

"Unfortunately, no A/C in room, which is not unusual, but on a very hot day for England, the bathroom towel racks were in full heat and almost boiling. Neither we nor the hotel manager could shut them off. One single fan provided little/no relief and room temp was + 30c degrees and never got to a comfortable temp overnight. "Staff were great, room was tidy. Only downside was the breakfast. Wife is gluten free and although the breakfast was labelled really well……they cross contaminated the breakfast items at the server. The chef was really helpful and cooked a separate breakfast but the cross contamination should never had happened in the first place. Putting gluten sausages with bacon to keep warm is a no no."
