They were just steps, I don't see what the big deal is.
Lots of steps! Police don't allow anyone to sit on the steps other than to take a quick photo. Beware the men giving out roses at the top of the steps, they are very persistent and not easy to shake off.
Very busy, but worth a visit - especially if you also call in to Babington’s for the best cup of tea and pastries in Rome!
