Rosetta Hotel Perugia, Tapestry Collection by Hilton
10/10 Excellent
"Pet friendly stay in Perugia. Hotel is newly renovated and very nice. Rooms are smaller but typical for an Italian city hotel. Nice breakfast, romantic courtyard where you can have lunch or drinks. ‘Jazz room’ is great for working and taking calls — hotel WiFi is quite poor but ask at front desk for the conference room WiFi which is >10x faster. Perugia itself is perfection. Hotel is in a good location. Parking is off site but escalators take you ‘up’ into the city so a bit less inconvenient. Area in front of hotel to park while dropping luggage. EV charger 20m away."

Il Palazzo

"Great customer service. Mayra is a great host and everyone in there."

Hotel Ristorante La Bastiglia
10/10 Excellent
"The hotel and the restaurant were both top notch. We loved staying there. The only caveat was that there were 52 steps to our room, so we got lots of excise while we were there. If you have mobility issues, be sure to tell the hotel n advance. Otherwise we were delighted and would stay there again, even with all the steps."

"Bedroom was clean and tidy but the outside balconies and railings looked unsafe so we didn’t venture out onto them. The bathroom was nice but the extractor fan didn’t work which turned it into a sauna. One of the basins didn’t hold water which was a slight inconvenience when shaving, etc. The shower didn’t have a slider rail and was fixed around waist height and had to be held to wash your body unless you wanted to use the drencher head. There was also no shelf inside the shower area to put toiletries on meaning constant bending down. A shower grab rail would also have been advantageous. The toilet seat was also wonky but manageable. For a 5 star hotel complimentary daily water bottles were not provided unless you wanted to pay for it from the mini bar. Breakfast was a rudimentary continental type. Scrambled egg (with shell) was provided but if you wanted cooked eggs or omelettes there was a €7 - €15 charge. Swimming pool and sauna facilities were nice. Bar area was clean and tidy. Generally all the staff in the hotel were polite and helpful especially the receptionists."

Chocohotel
10/10 Excellent
"An amazing hotel with friendly staff. Very quirky with chocolate themed furnishings. Our room was a good size and very comfortable. The breakfast buffet has to be seen to be believed with an outstanding range of goodies to choose from. The savoury options were plentiful. It would have been preferable to have the eggs and bacon kept warm but this was our only negative. The fresh fruit was beautifully prepared. I have shared photos of the non gluten selection with my non gluten friends who were impressed with the choice. Truly a must stay hotel for anyone wanting to experience a “Willy Wonka” moment. Walk from station to the hotel is doable in 15 minutes but pavement is not very even and probably not suitable for nightime. The walk up to the historic centre was challenging and one we had to abandon in favour of a taxi but noted afterwards that we could have got a bus. The walk back from the centre downhill was actually not so bad. Our room on 3rd floor at the front was somewhat noisy from road traffic."

La Terrazza di spello

"Negatives; 1. Last 30 metres of climb to the property was extremely steep. 2. The bed (a pull our couch) was the hardest that we have ever experienced. 3. The owner/host spoke zero English. 4. She showed us an unacceptable small unit, which we declined, until showing us a larger one with a view (which we had paid for). 5. After May 1, the heat is turned off and we were very cold for the first week of our stay. 6. Only one other unit had a terrace, patio or balcony (not ours). Positives: 1. The price, 2. an incredible view out two windows, due to being on top of the hill in Spello, 3. The kitchen appliances were adequate. 4. Clean, 5. Quiet, 6. Large enough for two weeks."
