"The room was very neglected, the car park had been blocked but cars parking over the entrance, no water pressure whatsoever for a shower and the main entrance was extremely loud with a party going on. Kids running around reception and all the corridors."

Unfortunately the owner had forgotten we were coming even though I had phoned her the night before. We arrived and spent 15 minutes in the dark and cold (3C) knocking on the door . No answer. No lights on. I tried ringing the mobile number 7x. Eventually it was picked up - she was at the gym! She told us how to get in, which was a relief as we were just about to go...

"Bit of a cheap and cheerful go-to place when seeing friends in and around Lingfield. Rooms and decor are a bit tired these days but comfortable nonetheless. Good pub grub and ambience and walkable to alternative Indian and Thai restaurants in the village. Annoying bright green fire exit lights in the room I stayed in so bring your blackout mask! "
