"The Hotel has more of a guest house vibe than a luxurious Hotel feel. However, the property was clean with basic amenities. Iron/Ironing board is not included in room but the service is available at an additional cost.
The staff were friendly and courteous. We had some drinks at the bar and the bartender provided very good service. Dinner was very delicious and our 2 hostesses were very nice. However the wait time for receiving the meal was a bit too long, so bear this in mind when booking your dinner.
Overall, I would recommend Ocean Point as a good option for accommodations."
"Had to change rooms which took 2 days to arrange as the first room I would rate as 1* with very outdated amenities and bathroom not fit for use.
Changed room was slightly better, but wouldn’t return to this resort."
Sandals Grande Antigua - ALL INCLUSIVE Couples Only
10/10 Excellent
"Everything was perfect. Food was excellent, staff were friendly and fun, location and excursions were awesome! Barely any complaints, transportation to and from hotel was easy and transparent, room was clean and comfortable, great view! Only complaint would be the elevator was slow and there was only one but while we were there they were in the process of constructing a second elevator which would have made that problem void. Overall highly recommend, it made my wife and I’s honeymoon a fantastic memorable time!!"
"Overall we had a great experience. The rooms were clean and well-maintained. We stayed in a Gauguin Suite, which felt more like a private villa than a hotel room. Having a secluded backyard and plunge pool was a huge plus and made the stay feel very intimate and relaxing. The beach is absolutely beautiful and easily one of the resort's biggest highlights. The food was surprisingly good. Since meals are made to order rather than sitting under heat lamps at a buffet, everything tasted fresh and well-prepared. The drinks were ok, although pretty much what you'd expect from an all-inclusive Caribbean resort.
That said, this is not the type of resort you come to if you're looking to party. Galley Bay is all about relaxation, reconnecting with your significant other, and enjoying a slower pace of life. The evening entertainment is usually a live band playing music rather than the typical high-energy resort productions. Everything is very low-key and laid back.
One thing to note is that the resort itself is fairly small. You can walk from one end to the other in about 10 minutes, which we liked but if you're looking for a massive property with endless activities, this may not be the place.
My only real criticism is that some of the staff seemed a bit uninterested at times. Nobody was rude but we didn't experience the exceptionally warm service that many Caribbean resorts are known for. We didn't notice many guests tipping, so unlike other places the staff is not tip motivated."
"Cottage was clean, A.C worked great. Kitchen and bathroom was clean just had an ant problem. I traveled alone, the unit was very spacious. The pool was decent. Able to walk to the beach just be mindful coming back is uphill. Not many choices of restaurants but they will call a taxi for you. Staff was super friendly, willing to help with and definitely made me feel comfortable and safe. I would stay here again"
"The property was extremely beautiful and most of the staff was very hospitable, However there are some laps in communication. For example the first mishap was I contacted the front desk and when the gentlemen picked up I asked if there was a gift shop and he stated yes and then I asked did they have any benadryl due to my Girlfriend having an allergic reaction and his reply was let me check and ill give you a call back. Noone ever called so I walked to the main lobby from our suite to get the medicine and I Informed the young lady that there was never a call back. When I returned I asked my partner did anyone call and she said no. The next morning I asked if we could check out a hour after normal check out which is 12pm and the same young ma. From the night before he said yes that should not be a problem. There was no explanation. Of it being a coverage charge to stay in the room for an extra hour. Give me the choice whether I wanna pay that or not dont just assume without clear communication."
