Nice relaxing surroundings but disappointed when we booked for breakfast it we were charge saying it was not included and on further investigations booking still includes breakfast for the price we paid and believes me

Really nice place. No fuss check in and a nice wee box of home made biscotti on arrival. Fresh milk outside the bedroom door for that early morning reviver. Very busy at night which is always a good sign. Food was ok to good, service excellent and the lunchtime homemade fish finger sandwich hit the spot after a long drive.

Good pub with good rooms.

Bigger than it looks pub with rooms. Pub was very busy with a good vibe, lots of people enjoying themselves. We had dinner and the food was very good (also big portions). Breakfast good as well. Room was clean and comfortable. We overlooked the kitchen extractor fans but they were switch off once the kitchen closed that night. It is an old building so you don't get aircon etc, but that was part of it charm. Staff very friendly as well.

Really lovely hotel with friendly staff. We stayed in room 2, which was beautiful and had everything we needed, including fresh milk delivered outside our door in a cooler for a morning cuppa. Breakfast was delicious and really filling. Unfortunately, there were a cons. The bed was incredibly uncomfortable because the mattress was either worn out or just very very soft. Neither of us slept well and I woke up with aches and pains in my shoulders (I'm only 34). The other downside was that it sounded like we were directly above the bar. This meant that there was no chance of any peace until the pub had closed. If we had known, we would have asked for a room higher up in the building.

Amazing selection of craft beers and superb food both dinner and breakfast! Also, there was a pretty good run route through the church yard and round the lanes!

Mediocre

Room was fairly basic but clean, we ate there in the evening with friends but they didn’t enjoy their food - steak was overdone and onion rings were raw. Restaurant service wasn’t great we had to chase for drinks and eventually the bill Shower has to run for ages before it came warm and in the morning the water was only just warm enough to shower Sadly woken early due to noises downstairs Breakfast service was wonderful lady couldn’t do enough for us and her energy was infectious

A very welcome break on our journey from Edinburgh

We stayed for one night - on arrival we were warmly greeted and showed to our room, water and milk offered and a table in the restaurant booked for dinner. Our food was delicious and the service excellent from smiling staff. We would certainly recommend to friends and happily stay on another occasion.

Would really recommend. The room, service and food was excellent. Unfortunately only stayed for one night on route for Hawkshead but will definitely be returning.

This was a surprise for us as I had thought we were booking a hotel in Stafford. Not so, but it's a quick hop on the train to and from, so it ended up not an inconvenience but a really great experience for us. VERY comfortable room. Delightful and helpful staff. A fun place to stay. And the FOOD! The chef should probably be cooking at a five star in London. I'm not kidding. Just a terrific surprise for this sleepy village. We stayed for several days and took breakfast (typical English) but GOOD and dinners at the hotel. Everything was really good. I mean I wished we'd had more days just to try more from the menu. It was fun to be in a place were the locals dropped in for a pint after work. No lift, but a very ccourteous staff to help with luggage. A quick ten minute walk to the train stop to get you out to Stafford where you can get where you want to go. All in all - we loved out stay at The Littleton Arms and would return again. Thank you.

Good place to stay.

The rooms are in a very nice busy pub that seems very popular with the locals. Whilst located on a busy road the room was nice and quiet, the location is good for travel around the local area. Food in the pub was very nice, particularly the steaks.

Nice pub with rooms above. Room compact but with little luxuries of lovely toiletries and excellent tea bags! The double room would have been a squeeze had there been two of us and luggage. As this was a Friday to Saturday overnight stay I realised that breakfast was not served until 8.30 upon reading the room leaflet. I had to leave the hotel at 7.30 am and so no food was available to me despite asking even for a roll and butter! There was also no where to leave my key as all was locked up downstairs. Note also that despite the room being paid for in advance a further £100 deposit is taken from your card on arrival! A little excessive and it can take up to 4-5 days to be returned to your account. No if that is your spending money you are in trouble!

Overnight stay after a meal

Lovely room, very clean and refined with plenty of character. Great shower powerful not like some places I've stayed with weak showers a pet hate of mine. Nice large bed. Good breakfast plenty options.

Really impressed. Exceeded expectations for the price. Room was lovely. Extra touches were great. Service fantastic. Onsite restaurant very good quality, but with a price tag to reflect. Overall very happy with my stay.

Excellent over night stopping point and food

Although I cancelled this reservation I stayed there this week. Superb food and friendly helpful staff. Really nice spacious room and very pleased with the location. I would definitely stay here again and use for business meetings. Only small point. The room was freezing. Old building and they provided a heater. No issue.
