"2 light bulbs didn’t work, so only had the big light or 1 bed side light.
Carpet and bed base were dirty…stained.
Lift didn’t work, which we weren’t told about.
Room had clean linen and towels. Plenty of coffee and milk. Plenty of parking."

"Enjoyed the stay but it was noisy trying to get to sleep in the cottage room and I’m curious as to why there were only 9 loungers in the spa but there are 60 bedrooms ? I had to sit on a chair .. not really the spa experience I was looking for.
Also another gripe of mine is no full length mirrors in bedrooms ? And no table near a mirror to sit and dry hair and do makeup ? It’s the little things that make all the difference."

"I stupidly asked Gemini " I want to surprise my daughter with a weekend away, the destination doesn't matter the highlight of the trip is the hotel" and The Earl of Doncaster came up, as one of the options on the train route selected
The staff were lovely from the off, both front of house and bar staff, but it wasn't the experience I wanted.
We stayed in room 215, in the right corner of the room had major water damage, wall paper and ceiling were brown.
The bathroom was nice enough, wet room and everything looked clean.
The ceiling maybe made of papier mache as you can hear every footstep from the rooms above
Finally, the actual stay, 215 is above the function room, I had a 7 year old in tears as she couldnt get to sleep.as the noise was ridiculous, the volume was reduced around 11:45 but it could still be heard.
I mentioned it on the way out when I was asked how my stay was, the reponse to my honest feedback "we cant control noisy guests"
Anyway, I'd say fine as a base for the races if you're planning to make noise yourself, otherwise avoid."
