"The property is beautiful and in a perfect location next to all the sites you want to see. The pool area is gorgeous, with beautiful Yucatanian hammocks.
However, the rooms are dated and in need of renovation. The amenities simply do not exist. For example, no coffee in the room and no big pot of coffee in the lobbly. No refrigerator either, which would have been nice.
Worst of all, the staff was extremely uptight and unhelpful. To the point of being really mean and interfering with our fun. The pool closes at 8 pm which is ridiculous, and we were scolded for being in there after 8, even though we were extremely quiet and considerate of other guests.
They took a big deposit for amenities at checkin and were extremely rude and accusatory when we checked out, acting as if we were trying to skip out on paying for a breakfast--which was terrible by the way. Don't eat at the hotel."
"It was a really pretty little place. It doesn’t look like much from the outside- but once you go in it’s actually pretty spacious and nice. The room was spacious and had a wooden shutter on the door that was pretty cool. There were two cats hanging out in there- a white and black one. Both very cute, very sweet. Say hello to them if you go! :) Wash your hands after though :) Very nice staff- patient with english speakers. :)"
Reef Yucatan Hotel and Convention Center All Inclusive
8/10 Good
"If you’re looking for where locals vacation, this is it. Roughly an hour from the Mérida airport, the hotel nails that laid-back Yucatán vibe. Mornings on the private beach, afternoons by the pool with more drinks and snacks than you can try. It’s the kind of place you go to actually unwind. Highly recommend for anyone craving a slow-paced escape. "
"This is a perfect place to disconnect and recharge, does have wi-fi if you can't live without it.
The staff extremely cordial and attentive from the moment I stepped into the property, the restaurant staff was just as attentive prompt. The Hacienda has a rustic touch with a modern aproach, only five minutes outside of Izamal which makes it a perfect location. The Spa massage was phenomenal, will definitely stay here again when in the area."
"Wonderful. Friendly and kind staff. So beautiful gardens and all the rooms have a unique lovely decoration. The Pool, wow! Confortable bed and nice furniture. Good breakfast. We really enjoy our stay!"
