"The staff and their pleasant smiling Manager (we recall his name was Ryota, but may be incorrect) were so very helpful to us. They bent over backwards upon our arrival to make us just so comfortable there. We had come to check in at the hotel with our luggage just after their breakfast rush was finished and the Manager was so very helpful. He first offered to store our bags until the 3pm check in, he was very friendly and asked us many questions about our travels. He seemed just happy to meet us and when we returned later to check into our room, he then told us he had already brought all the bags to the room and they were some heavy ones. So thoughtful and such great service. No hotel in Japan has done that for us since we’ve been here travelling from Hokkaido down to Honshu and now Shikoku for the past two months. It’s a first and we’ve had some very good hotel stays but their service at Super Hero Hotel is above and beyond. The rooms are very clean, lots of amenities, plugs all over the room and quiet. We even learned the next morning after a delicious fresh breakfast buffet that screamed ‘quality’ that our Manager is getting married next summer and then we were introduced to his bride to be who also works there. Even the breakfast staff all came out at once when they were closing up the buffet to thank the remaining guests and to wish them all safe travels. So friendly they all were and it made our day. We were sad to leave and highly recommend the place."
"The best thing about this place is the natural hot springs mineral bath. The hotel is clean, well kept and the service is great. The downside is the location. The only reason to go here is the mineral hot springs bath or on business. Public transportation is an extreme challenge with this location for foreigners! Taxis don’t operate on any of the major apps so if you don’t speak fluent Japanese to call and request one, you are at the mercy of finding someone to help you. Secondly, the Kawanoe station is so remote that is could not use the Suica card app to exit the station, which locked up my app until I traveled somewhere else where it could be manually fixed. Unfortunately I think my first trip to Shikokuchuo will be my only trip."
"Staff is kind, very conveniently located downtown next to the train station, and the property is clean. The rooms are a bit small and outdated, however."
