The hotel is a located inside a converted house. Everything looks very traditional, complete with low ceilings, sliding doors, mat covered floors and futons. The dorm slept four, which I though was tight, but it seems to work well enough that I slept quite well both nights. My futon had two layers and although I like a firm mattress, I did think it was quite sore on my back the 1st night. Common areas include the kitchen, cafe and lounge. The sink, shower room and toilet were separate and I...

Onsen was excellent with a great view of the valley.. evening meals well worth the half board

A bit of a culture change for the uninitiated, but this hotel is incredible. The staff are super friendly and helpful. Breakfasts are just lovely and served in a traditional environment that sets you up for the day. Wish we could have stayed for longer.

Our stay at the Chisun Grand was perfect for exploring Nagano, and for taking day trips further afield. The hotel is located only a few minutes walk from the train station, making day trips elsewhere very easy. The reception staff were very welcoming, and very accommodating when we found we had been given a nice twin room, rather than a double. This was not a problem, and we were quickly given a double room of an equal standard to the twin. There are some good bars and restaurants not far from...

the owners made us feel very at home, they could not do more to please us as their guests, we were treated more like family! the Japanese breakfast we courteously served, it was delicious! we could not recommend this Ryokan enough, especially with the obliging owners!

Had a lovely stay at this Ryokan and would highly recommended it. Staff were kind & accomandating and made sure I felt welcome as a solo traveller. When they heard I intended to visit the monkey park the day I arrived, they especially arranged for transportation to take me there. The ryokan is english-friendly, especially my server for dinner who could hold a conversation. Food featured local ingredients and was excellent.

Very attentive staff. Easy check in. Close to station. Very good buffet breakfast. Reasonable room rates. Comfortable room. Everything you need really.

Amazing breakfast. Large room with a great view (mountain view). Nice friendly staff (also helped with luggage forwarding). Clean. Good value.

There was a shuttle expecting us outside Yudanaka station, even though it's just a 6min walk to the hotel, but much appreciated when you're carrying bags. The place is beautiful and the private onsen: AMAZING (indoor and outdoor). Breakfast was a nice varied Buffet and loved the provided yukatas. Would definitely go back!

Great location, good room and breakfast, and lovely to have an onsen

The on site Onsen natural baths, being able to choose either a private Onsen or alternative public baths, in the hotel. The private baths meant we could have the bath space to ourselves and wear a cosi! We were provided lovely fresh linen traditional robes, towels and footwear, fantastic traditional experience staying in this traditional Japanese accommodation, family run, with everyone being super helpful and friendly. Free coffee machine in reception. Why stay in a concrete tower block when...

The room was spotless clean. The breakfast was very good as well. The hotel is close to train station. On the top floor was lounge with view on Nagano.

This hotel was an incredible experience from the moment we arrived at the station where a staff member of the hotel was waiting to pick us up with a shuttle to the hotel without us even requesting that service. We were greeted with a warm welcome at this beautiful hotel with green tea, shown to our beautiful room and the lovely staff explained the amenities available. The room was comfortable, the multicourse meal that evening was top quality and because of the special occasion we were surprised...

Was a most wonderful and relaxing experience. Only the fact that the indoor pool is closed for the whole month of June was disappointing.

Nicely situated near the railway station . The staff were very helpful and and friendly . The room was nice, tidy and bright . The room decor was a little dated and smelt a little dated but wasn’t a problem .
