VERY accommodating

We were attending a wedding at Old Oak Farm, around 6 miles away. Taxis are rare and quite expensive, so I phoned asking if we could check in after it had finished at around 11.30pm which he was absolutely fine about. The taxi driver ended up taking us to the wrong Rose and Crown - 30 mins away from this one (be warned there are 5 or 6 Rose and Crown's in the area!). I rang and the guy stayed up especially for us - we ended up arriving at 12.30 and the guy was lovely about it. The next morning we were a bit late up and thought we had missed breakfast as it's normally served until 9.30am. The guy had laid out a full breakfast for us of toast, croissants, juice, coffee and even cooked a fry up. Whilst we were eating he then phoned us a taxi to take back to the wedding venue where we'd left the car. I have never been treated so nicely at a hotel and would definitely recommend this place. The room itself was lovely, I just wished we'd been able to stay there longer! Very much recommended, but be warned - taxis are expensive and rare in the area, and make sure you give them the full address before setting off

Lovely B&B.

Spent one night in this lovely B&B in a quiet location . Room very comfortable and excellent breakfast. Had very nice evening meal.

Great welcome food and comfort

We found all the staff very friendly. The evening meal was excellent and the breakfast exceptional. Our room was very clean and comfortable. We would definitely stay here again and would highly recommend it to friends and family.

Great country pub/ hotel

Good hearty food, ale and en-suit double room. The staff and owners were very nice and attentive. Woke pleasantly to the sounds of rural life. Will be staying again when in the area.

Lush

Overall a fantastic place to go for an overnight stay. If the bed had been slightly bigger then our reviews would have been 5's for the comfort. Breakfast was one of the best we have had. The home made sausage in particular was excellent. As a pub it was informal and relaxed. Service was good and the food was reasonably priced and of a good standard. Staff very welcoming. All in all a good stay.

A warm and welcoming stay

As a second-time visitor to this lovely Inn, I was impressed once again by the warmth of the welcome and the wonderfully cosy environment with good home-cooked food at a very reasonable price.

Country pub with good food

Deep in the Somerset countryside yet within easy access to the motorway. Very comfortable room, good food served both at dinner and at breakfast. Friendly efficient staff. Real ale and a good range of wines.

First Class stay in a lovely village pub.

Four of us stayed for one night (our third stay in three years) it was excellent in all aspects, evening meal and breakfast was great. One of the best breakfast I have ever had,thanks for a great stay.

Hidden Gem

I've used this Pub as a business bolt hole a couple of times, rooms are good, close to M5 and very quiet at night.... Great food and local hospitality, make a change from the usual chains wthtout the worry of what you may get

Great Team

Brief overnight stay on the way to Cornwall. Leonie went beyond hospitality at its best. Will definately be back. Staff extremely helpful and food was excellent. Exceptional sums the Rose and Crown and it's team up.

Very friendly

Stayed at the Rose & Crown for a short break away with the missus during October half term. We arrived late afternoon and all seemed to be closed up (I'm a towny and used to pubs etc open all day) but rang the bell and were welcomed in. Although this is a B&B with a pub name, it is more of a restaurant with some rooms to let. First impressions are that the place seemed very clean and tidy with tables carefully set for the evening meals. We were shown around our accommodation which was clean and tidy. Complimentary tea making kit in the room was a nice touch. A low bit of ceiling in both bedroom and bathroom made us a little wary but all in very nice. We booked a table for dinner as we didn't know what was around in terms of eateries. I wish I'd noticed the 'Taste Card' label in the window as could have saved a few bob on the meal which was not the cheapest but the food was amazing and very plentiful. I have been to several well known restaurant chains and been very disappointed, but not here. All the staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble both with the table service and bar staff. Breakfast was well cooked and substantial.

Fantastic Service

The Hotel was very clean and tidy, the staff where exceptionally friendly and the food was fantastic. Stayed for 4 days and my stay was very comfortable and the staff were great. Will definitely be returning to this Hotel.

In the countryside

Lovely hotel with first class service. Excellent food. Could be difficult to find so I would recommend that you get your satnav setup before you go. Perhaps a quick call to the hotel to get the co-ordinates and to find out if there are any road closures nearby as the village of Stoke St Gregory is quite large.

We thoroughly recommend this lovely hotel. Beautiful surroundings, helpful happy staff, and excellent food. The rooms were very comfortable & the bathroom spacious and luxurious. Can't wait to return.

Fab B&B with great food in countryside setting

We have been staying at this accommodation for over 8 years and it just keeps getting better. Lovely room, comfortable bed, great food. Went out of their way to get a fan for our room and make sure that we were comfortable. Breakfast is a wonderful local feast, great bacon and herbed sausages, huge mushroom and sweet tomatoes. Don't miss the chance to either lunch or dine in the pub - the food is great, we have been countless times. Our personal favourites are the sea bass, gammon steak and rump steak. The ice cream is devine too!

A hidden gem

We loved our stay here. The people, the small but quaint room and the food were all lovely. A little out of the way, but this meant a nice quiet night and very pleasant view. We only wish we could have stayed longer.
