We stayed 2 nights and drove into Ubud the first night (about 20 minutes by car) and then on Saturday drove to Kintamani. Perfect location for seeing the area. "Well situated villa, but a problem travelling with one child and having a two floor bedroom with outside stairs. The problem was solved with an extra mattress in main sleeping room. We don’t use whats app which was a problem - which seems to be normal in Bali. Nice and friendly staff."

Oh, this time we splurged and got a room with a private plunge pool……….yes, yes, yes And don’t let me forget, this time while we were staying, it was my birthday. We didn’t say anything, but at breakfast, to my surprise out comes the staff singing Happy Birthday. They presented me with a piece of tiramisu cake, candle and card. Everyone joined in and wished me happy birthday. It made my day special. Do other hotels do that, without being requested?"

The sound of water everywhere is so peaceful. The food was delicious. If you’re looking for a peaceful and tranquil retreat, I would absolutely recommend Askari."

"We have found our little piece of heaven. From the minute we arrived to a lovely welcome and tour of the beautiful hotel and facilities to the moment we left two weeks later it’s been outstanding in every way. Our Butler Valley Pool Villa was amazing with its own pool sitting amongst the jungle with the river running in the background was kept spotlessly clean by the housekeeping team morning and night, they were all so friendly helpful and unobtrusive The whole hotel staff knew our names and made us feel part of a family nothing was ever too much trouble Vanara restaurant which we frequented for both breakfast and evening meals served delicious and authentic foods offering a variety of Indonesian asian and western foods, the service from the restaurant team was again second to none and attentive The spa set above the river is so serene and relaxing and provides amazing treatments to suit everyone The bars serve drinks using well known international brands and we have also discovered some lovely Bali made wines which we will be trying to source upon our return home then the UK The way the hotel has been designed and built within the natural habitat is very sympathetic and is simply beautiful despite the obvious challenge to maintain the site is kept spotlessly clean and presented immaculately We will definitely be returning to our little piece of heaven on earth"
