Check in was easy then down hill from there toilet leaking and not clean cockroach dead on toilet floor shower would not drain properly

Obviously this grand old motel has seen better days where, I believe, Royalty once stayed. Unfortunately it’s now outdated and rundown. Pool area is not used and the pool itself is empty and dilapidated. However our room surprisingly had large comfortable beds and a good strong shower with plenty of hot water. The fridge was icy cold which was also a bonus. Flat screen TV on the wall but the room lighting was terrible with one bright ceiling light over the bed. NONE of the beautiful bedside lamps which are featured heavily in the motels advertising images. We found this motel to be the best place in town for 3 adults travelling together who requires 3 separate beds. NO dining available as the on-site restaurant and bar appears permanently closed. There are lots of rooms at this motel but it appears they only use a few of them as we booked the last remaining room on Wotif but the place was almost completely empty. OH by the way, there’s a 10pm curfew. Front gates are locked and you can’t come or go until morning which wasn’t a problem for us. Overall not a bad stay but just reminded yourself the remoteness of the location and embrace it.

Although advertised - NO pool - stayed twice 3 days apart got same room second time - dead Cochroach on carpet - no cold water in fridge- milk opened in fridge and used - door handle on bathroom is screw - no cutlery - used soap in shower recess - only staff member spoke to was cold and unfriendly - guest laundry disgusting with mosquito's and water driping machines/dryers dirty. WOULD NEVER STAY AGAIN.

Nice size room and bed but unfortunately the room was not clean with dirt and dust on the bed side shelves and bench with old stickers given to previous guest with room number and wifi details left behind and not cleaned up. The toilet bowl was cracked. Sink tap cold water did not turn off comply. Razor wire round the property did not give a good feeling

This property was most probably good 30 years ago. I don’t think they ever bothered to fix, clean or maintain anything since. If I had to choose between sleeping at this motel or on the street I choose the street.

This place fees like the ghetto. Surrounded by barbed wire fences, you’re locked into the compound at night. That aside, the hotel itself is pretty rundown, I’d booked expecting a pool and restaurant to be available, and if you’re expecting this too, then don’t, they’re all closed and run down, grass and weeds overtaking the patio out the front of the restaurant, it looks closer to something out of silent hill, or some zombie apocalypse flick. The room was full of roaches, and you will wake up to roach pop all round your head after a nights sleep. My fellow travellers had used tissues in their draws. It was probably a good hotel once, but looks like they’re just pulling money out of it now, and not investing back into maintenance. A real shame. Only consider staying here if you absolutely have to. You’ve been warned.

This property is dated and poorly maintained. The room was musty smelling and in need of a face lift. Dirty finger marks on the inside of the entrance door. Not enough and poorly placed power outlets. Tiles missing and falling off the wall in bathroom. At some point a new cupboard with hand basin has been installed in the bathroom which restricts the access to the toilet and shower to about 4 or 5 hundred millimetres. I am sure this would be in breach of the building code for adequate access and egress. To be fair, the bed and sheets were clean, aircon worked ok, location is good (main st), and aftet all, it is Tennant Creek, a mining town in the middle of Australia's outback.
