"Amanda and Rob were friendliest welcoming hosts, room was spotless, all food provided was cooked fresh and excellent also was delicious! If we ever are back in Jedburgh I know 100% this is where we would stay again, so thank u both for a lovely stay, Ruth n George x"
"One night stay in this historic house now being used as a hotel located a short walking distance from Hawick centre set in an attractive garden with a wonderful park nearby.
Lovely interior with large attractive lounge, entrance hallway and staircase. Large bedroom and en suite bathroom.
The Large king-size bed was firm and therefore not that comfortable.
Breakfast was a standard traditional option with cereal and juices.
Not much interaction with staff except at check in and ordering breakfast. Short and to the point.
Free car parking immediately outside hotel front entrance.
I would recommend the hotel for a short stay purely for the novelty factor."
"Was a little further from Selkirk than expected/noticed at booking but was worth the extra miles. Bus didn’t stop so had to book a taxi from Selkirk. The hotel was helpful and offered to come pick us up if needed! Food at dinner and breakfast was excellent."
"There was a large party downstairs (floor below) on the Saturday night we stayed there. Music from DJ was very loud and pounding/felt in our room until after midnight preventing sleep. The Restaurant was unavailable due to the party. I wouldn’t recommend booking a room on this property when the downstairs facilities are booked in this way."
"Great wee coaching inn pub + hotel. Lovely food at reasonable price. Helpful staff.
Good sized room and bathroom.
Shower could do with a bit of maintenance otherwise perfect"
"We had a lovely stay at The Royal Hotel. The staff were very attentive and helpful, the rooms were comfortable, clean and nice. Breakfast was very tasty, we had everything we could ask for and would recommend it to people who are exploring the Borders and Jedburgh."
"Clean room, great amount of tea/coffee /milk in the room, good service at the bar/breakfast space, got what I paid for so very happy with my stay. Great parking at the hotel."
"The property was easy to find. We were met at the door and were made to feel very welcome. Our hosts discussed the accommodation itself followed by a welcoming brew and a chat regarding the local area, places to eat and our breakfast order for the morning. We were recommended a lovely Italian restaurant in nearby St Boswells which was really nice.
The views from our room were beautiful and really peaceful. The room and en-suite were very clean and the perfect size to be fair. Breakfast was really nice with a fruit platter with yogurt, a choice of cereals with a hot breakfast after that. It was all cooked really well.
Only 1 minor issue was the creaky bed frame which woke me ( I’m a light sleeper) every time I turned around. The Mrs seemed fine though.
Bed aside I would highly recommend to any visitor and we are likely to return in the near future. "
