📍Falls of Foyers, by Dores near Inverness

A 165ft waterfall on the river Foyer which feeds Loch Ness. In 1895 the flow of water was largely reduced due to an aluminium smelting factory, which was powered by electricity generated by the river on the shores of Loch Ness. The plant shut in 1967 and the site is now part of a 300 MegaWatt pumped-storage hydroelectricity system at Loch Mhòr.
