"Room was small but clean. Had to go to another hotel for breakfast. Staff was friendly and helpful. Parking not applicable."

"Had a poor and a highly unsatisfactory experience overall at the hotel. Check in was slow, the front desk was uninformed about even basics such as parking location and prices, and wasted a lot of time checking me in. Hotel elevators and lobby and rooms are all extremely dated, and smell of cigarettes and seem like they were all built in 1960s. No electric outlets easily accessible in the rooms, and the bathrooms are not renovated. Phone and desk also looks dingy, small and somewhat smelly. Television was tiny, and had programming a remote from the turn of the century. Hotel room rates were not very competitive, so definitely expected much better experience overall than what was offered. Even service was overall quite poor. I requested towel and conditioner in my room, and they said they can’t send any conditioner as it is only available to suites and executive rooms. How low class is Accor or Novotel (or Germany) that conditioner is somehow a “premium amenity”. Cheap dingy smelly hotel, with poor service… I would look for a better experience at the Marriott down the street."

"Hervorragende Lage des Hotels für Besuche in Basel. Zimmer sauber, aber bei einem ausgewiesenen 3-Bett Zimmer erwarte ich, dass auch 3 vollwertige Betten vorhanden sind und nicht nur eine schmale Liege als 3. Bett. Großzügiger Parkplatz. Wir waren vor einem Jahr ebenfalls in diesem Hotel, damals war 1 Fahrstuhl in Betrieb, 2 Fahrstühle waren außer Betrieb. An diesem Zustand hat sich nichts geändert. Nicht nachvollziehbar, dass die Fa. Haushahn es innerhalb eines Jahres nicht schaffen soll, das Problem zu lösen. 1 Fahrstuhl für ein 10-stöckiges Hotel ist schon taff. Das Frühstück für 19 € ist wirklich 08-15. Die Stühle im Frühstücksraum sind durchgesessen und bedürfen einer Erneuerung. Kein wahrnehmbarer Service im Frühstücksraum, d.h. kein Personal, das mal benutztes Geschirr abräumt etc. Wir werden vermutlich trotzdem wieder kommen, einfach weil die Lage für unsere Unternehmungen optimal ist."
