Wonderful hotel, felt like home! Overlooking the sea,ten minutes to all the sites! I injured my ankle and had to stay 2 extra nights, they were happy to accommodate my requests to stay in same room as I recovered! Wonderful breakfast buffet, parked my rental right outside main doors! My only complaint was no one on duty after 9pm as I did have an urgent issue but it was OK. I hope to return to this exciting country and town! The food is fabulous and friendly people.

Very friendly staff and the morning breakfast was excellent. Also if you agree to go “green” for your stay a free beverage/beer is provided . . . a nice touch. Only downside (but minimal) . . . looks like some minor repair work is needed (ie: to walls). All in all, a very good stay.

I stayed here for almost a week, and the location is a great base for everything I wanted to do in the Faroe Islands. Close to the bus station, ferry terminal, and town center with shopping and restaurants. The hotel is clean and breakfast is great! I also loved having coffee or tea available all day. Staff members are lovely and helpful. The downsides for me were the terrible pillow and tiny shower, and staying on the second floor with loud people above me (not the hotel’s fault they stomped on the floor and seemed to be rearranging the furniture every night). Would definitely stay again (on the top floor)!

The hotel is very convenient to the main shopping/dining district in Torshavn. It was about a 10 minute walk to many restaurants. The ferry/bus terminal was about a 5 minute walk away and it was very easy to get the 300 bus to the airport from this terminal. Our room was spacious and comfortable and the included breakfast had a nice selection. There was a nice perk in that if you chose green and declined daily room servicing you could receive one can of beer or soda per room for each day. We were able to try some of the local beer by doing this. The hotel is on a major street so there was some noise from the vehicles driving by but I would recommend the sea view (which also faces the road). I would definitely stay at Hotel Djurhuus again!

Clean, Comfortable and Basic

This is a good option for staying in Torshavn. A short walk to the old town, easy access for parking. Clean, Nordic design. Compact rooms, but plenty comfortable for a few days. Like the large smart TV in the room which allowed us to login to our Netflix and Prime streaming accounts. Good food options in Torshavn are a bit limited, though there are quite a few takeout places. The hotel allows you to use the breakfast room and access the plates, tableware and even a microwave. In the evening, quite a few people took advantage with pizza or Asian takeout. We would recommend the hotel to friends and if we are ever fortunate to return, we would stay here again.

Very nice place; staff was great and the room was a good size. Their “laundry service” is really just a standard washing / drying machine in a back room that you have to do yourself. It was not convenient to use. I was hoping it would be more of a drop off / pick up situation. Just a note for future travelers.

Excellent hotel, great service & always warm.

This is a lovely hotel which is spotlessly clean with very helpful staff in every way. The location is excellent- only a short walk into town with free parking at the front. The view is amazing - ask for a front room, we didn’t but luckily got one. The hotel is warm despite the weather outside (although it was pleasant when we were there in August. The only down sides are that the soundproofing between rooms is dreadful and the bed was extremely soft. We heard next door talking all the time and pings / alarms on phones which didn’t seem to get turned off! We prefer a harder bed so struggled with the softer mattress. However, overall we had a great stay (coffee / tea machine in rooms aswell as free tea / coffee from the breakfast room all day aswell as being able to eat a take away in the hotel at any time we wanted in that room). The cleaning staff were amazing; reception staff always polite and helpful; breakfast staff were very efficient - nothing was too much trouble for any staff. Thank you for a lovely stay and we recommend Hotel Djurhuus to anyone.

Excellent Upscale Hotel Near Town - Good Value

The hotel seemed to be very good value around 200 EUR for a simple 2 bed room. For Americans it was "cosy" and not very spacious, but did not feel like a hostel. All of the staff were very helpful, outgoing and fully multilingual. The location was nice, with the hotel across the street from the coastline, a 2 min walk to the free city bus stop, 5 minutes from a nice lighthouse on a hill and 10 mins from downtown. Parking - there were about 20 free parking spots in front of the hotel; try to park on the right side of the entrance as the driveway on the left side is quite narrow. If all spots are taken, there is a generous size gravel lot across the street and maybe 50 meters going away from town. Note - the front desk staff are often helping other coworkers but a quick ding and they're right there. A special shout out to Jenny, the GM, who was extremely helpful when my flight back to Keflavik canceled (this happens often, 10% of the time for Icelandair) and helped me extend my rental car and stay at the hotel. While free breakfast is served from 7-10am, the dining tables and silverware are avail at all hours. The tap water is better than bottled water. AND they have vending machines if you need a late night snack. Beer is sold at the front desk. Showers also have a rain shower head and a handheld. The windows open for fresh air and the televisions have multiple channels from Nordic countries, including local sport coverage, which is fun. Loved it!!!

Great location to walk around Torshavn and easy access to the bus. Lounge was cozy and view was amazing. Staff were friendly and helpful. Enjoyed the free tea daily and free beverage with going green.
