Niva Velassaru Maldives

10/10 Excellent

The review that persuaded me to book this hotel was the one which said something like 'I'm not a beach person but I loved this hotel'. Beautiful, peaceful, discreet, the attention to detail. L'occitane bathroom products, very comfortable bed, a shower and bathroom open to the warm air, delicious food in the restaurant (evening buffet concentrated on quality rather than quantity but there were still many choices). A most restful 3 days, one of the best hotels in 35 years of travelling.

The island is beautiful and well laid out. There is plenty to do and see or lots of places to just chill out. The staff on the island were fantastic. Honestly the best service we have had anywhere. The hotels buffet offerings were exceptional. The resturants near the main hotel are offering good service and great quality food. The only advice I would offer any would be travellers is that if you have a tight budget to find somewhere else.

From the moment you arrive at the airport everything is 5 stars. Excellent location, beautiful clear white beaches. Cristal clear water. Amazing snorkeling in the reef and lots of amazing fish that can be seen akk the time. The butlers go the extra mile and are truly fantastic. The water sport options, fishing, restaurant, and activities can keep even the most demanding client happy. 7 days in paradise and cannot wait to go back. Everything was amazing and even a couple of things that weren’t perfect upon our arrival were so attentively fixed with such respect and care that I don’t even remember what these were. We have stayed in many top Maldives hotels before and I would, having compared them, would rate the WA very highly. We even got to see a dolphin right outside our villa at sunset! Beautiful island, fantastic food, and (very important for me) no show - offs like in the “famous” One and Only which was such a...

10/10 Excellent

Absolutely stunning property. Service levels and staff are exceptional. Very impressed with the main buffet and other dining options in the property. The M6M experience is unique and very special. The only negatives I would point out is the dining at the Indian / Ceylon restaurant and the snorkelling experience at another resort was much better. at their house reef. Our other experience with another resort for snorkelling was far superior. The service standards are exceptional at this resort...

This is without doubt the ideal tropical retreat, no motorised vehicles just 46 beachside bungalows spread out around the perimeter of the island, which means that you can walk completely around the island on the beach in 15 minutes! This is the place to come if you want nothing more than water activities, sunbathing, eating, drinking and catching up on your favourite novels. The ratio of staff to guests is one to one although you may never see the majority as they are working behind the scenes...
