"The staff was awesome. Not only do they exude Polynesian hospitality, they cater to your every need. Checking wasn’t about signing this and that. It was a lei greeting, a chilled, flower scented hand towel, and a cool, refreshing flavored ice tea while sitting in a comfortable chair. Our bags were delivered to our bungalow while we were given the info about meal times and amenities. The food was always a hit. Ono as we say back home. Broke da mout! I’m gonna miss it.
Erika and Vaite were working very hard, but they always had a big smile whenever they were with guests. They’d serve every course at every meal with a smile, even if they were just bringing coffee or tea. Walking back from an ocean swim, I’d pass the restaurant and hear “ia orana”. The gentleman keeping the grounds clean and tidy would also greet us without fail. Opoa Beach will make you feel so welcome and relaxed. You won’t want to leave. We will return. Hopefully, sometime soon."
"Our final lodging experience during our 3 week trip to French Polynesia was awful. We booked a 5 night stay but left after 1 night because of the unacceptable noise levels from the construction directly behind our bungalow. We woke up to incredibly loud sawing and grinding - and when it continued throughout breakfast, we finally asked the manager what was going on. She unapologetically told us this would not stop and then after 15 minutes yelled across the dock to us that the noise would subside. 5 minutes later, the grinding noises were replaced by repetitive loud hammer sounds. This lasted from 8:30 am to 2:30 pm. During that time, we decided to find an alternative accommodation as our goal to coming to Tahiti was to relax and this hotel was ruining our vacation. Later that day after we had already left, we received another message from the manager that the construction was supposed to be have been completed before our arrival but they had a date change and were sorry. The lack of transparency prior to booking, along with the lack of transparency when we arrived was unacceptable. Furthermore, the staff was not at all proactive and only did not try to resolve or make the situation better. No offer of a refund or complimentary activity - nothing. Overall, the lack of hospitality was absolutely baffling.
Along with these issues, the price per night was way too high for the age of the property, poor quality of food, and dirty indoor and outdoor spaces and furniture. "
InterContinental Bora Bora Resort and Thalasso Spa by IHG
10/10 Excellent
"This place was heavenly. It was the perfect stay for my first time in Bora Bora. Every detail felt like luxury. The service and staff were outstanding. Thank you for making my first visit to Bora Bora unforgettable. "
"This is an absolute haven of tranquility and you don’t expect a lodge like that while driving down the East coast of Raiatea. The garden is stunning and you can read about all the plants. By the small beach is a lily pond and the hillside is a jungle of the most amazing vegetation. I was greeted very warmly and shown around, there is a beautiful communal area with a kitchen that is fully stocked and then you have little spaces in and outside of the fridge for the things you buy for yourself. There are no meals offered, you have to prepare them yourself. "
"Corrine and Frédéric were excellent host! They helped to facilitate our transit to and from the island, advised on and booked our excursions and answered all of our cultural and tourism related questions. Corrine is a superb and elegant chef. Every night we enjoyed Michelin star three course dinners with lovely company. Frédéric infuses the best.rums on the island, all with Tahitian vanilla, and various other fruits from the property. Every morning, a gourmet breakfast was delivered to our bungalow. If you want a five star hotel experience at a fraction of the cost with congenial company, look no further than there pension Titaina."
