"A well positioned home from home, close to Carcassonne Medieval City for a fantastic price.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, it was spotless, quiet and in a great place. Just over the road a street behind the main road is a lovely row of restaurants and bars, very chic. Access to the City is also very accessible, just across the bridge, 10 mins. Perfect 👌.
Don't forget your swimmers cos there's also a lovely pool. The car park is secure and gated too."
"The Hotel du Pont Vieux is a lovely hotel and excellent value when staying in Carcassonne. Just below the Cite with fabulous views from the small roof terrace. Buffet breakfast was good quality and varied to suit most tastes. Several good quality local restaurants and cafes. Catherine and Jean-Michel, the hosts, were extremely friendly and welcoming. Would definitely stay again if visiting the area."
"We had a lovely apartment with a separate bathroom. It had a sofa bed table chairs and a kitchen. The breakfast was expensive but very good food at lots of choices. The staff were very friendly."
"The hotel suited our visit to Carcassonne perfectly... The staff were very friendly and helpful, The room although small had all the amenities you'd expect and was very clean and modern. The pool was great fir a cooling dip and the bar offered a good range of drinks. The only disappointing note was a lack of bar snacks but there is a little shop next door where you can buy nuts and crisps etc.. Situated 5 minutes walk from the ancient Cité and about 20 minutes from the newer town.... Overall quite an enjoyable experience."
"We spent one night here on 30th August and regretted not staying longer. Beautiful hotel, lovely staff and great views of the citadel ramparts. The hotel is at the famous Narbonne gate entrance to the citadel and we had a wonderful time with family and friends in Place Marcou. We will definitely return at a future date."
"Stays for three nights to explore the medieval city and do a day trip to Toulouse. The hotel is very walkable to the medieval citadel and is also on a bus route so for us, well located for our needs but far from the main carcassonne and taxi to/from the airport will cost over €20.
Rooms large and clean, slight drain smell so needed to keep bathroom doors shut. The a/c annoyingly reverted to 25c from 22c during the night time so had to get up to regulate it (was 30/31c during day).
Breakfast was varied, plentiful and good quality. Freshly squeezed orange juice machine was a nice touch.
Swimming pool was fantastic after a hot day walking the ramparts and exploring the medieval city. Towels are a non-refundable €2 and disappointingly small.
Overall we would stay here again if in the area - a well priced, comfortable hotel."
