The James Bay Inn is a great antidote to the sameness of the chain hotels. Located close to downtown, the staff offer very warm welcome to their guests and comfortable seating areas around the building cosy spaces for discussion and reading. The breakfast and the on-site restaurant was delicious and set me up for the day.

The staff are fantastic, from the front desk to the pub to the cleaners. Not just helpful but fun. The property is worth staying at just for its historic charm but you add in the amazing staff and it’s an experience you won’t forget.

Enjoyed how close we were to the waterfront. Grounds were beautiful too and our room was very clean. The gentleman that checked us in was very helpful and showed us right to our suite in the house next door. We also enjoyed a drink later in the evening at the pub. The area around the hotel was also very peaceful. We enjoyed our one night there.

Location was excellent and the rooms were nice and quiet. Thankfully there is a good restaurant onsite for those days you were exhausted to entertain going out in the evenings. Staffing was amazing. They made you feel like a regular customer, not just a number. Definitely recommend this establishment.
