Ibrahim Rauza (‘Rauza’ means “tomb”) also known as Ali Rauza, built in 1627, contains the tomb of Ibrahim Adil Shah II and his queen Taj Sultana. It was originally intended to be the tomb for the queen. It is a fine square structure with twin buildings with delicate carvings.

Golgumbaz I would call this place as an acoustic wonder & is the most famous monument in Bijapur. It is the tomb of Mohammed Adil Shah (ruled 1627-1657). It is the largest dome ever built in India, next in size only to St Peter’s Basilica in Rome. #architecture #history

Staff were very courteous. The bigger resort facilities were good. The pool was excellent. The room was OK. The bathroom was a bit low quality. Restaurant was OK, breakfast was poor. But the price was very good.
