"View was phenomenal and there was a hike to a waterfall a few minutes away, breakfast was good a lot of nice options including fresh baked bread and the staffs uniform brung the whole place together"
"The access to the train line was awesome. Wonderful historic hotel with a lot of charm and beauty. The staff were wonderful and very accommodating. The rooms were very small and difficult to manage space with the extra chairs that were present. We were out during the day and that was when the pool and sauna were open. We would have loved them in the evening when we wanted to slow down for the day. The breakfast was awesome and the location was ideal. I loved the back patio most of all."
"We stayed one night and found this a comfortable hotel in a wonderful location. We had spent the day in Flåm, and arriving in Aurland was a welcome relief: a quieter, more settled town with a far more relaxed feel.
Check in was straightforward at what is a small hotel sitting just off the road. Dinner was served in the hotel restaurant and was of excellent quality, which matters in a place where options are few.
My only real criticism concerns our room, which was right at the top of the hotel. The lift only goes as far as the first floor, so the last stretch is on foot, and the headroom under the roof felt tighter than in other rooms. It did, though, have a superb view over the fjord. On balance we were happy with it, with the caveat that it was sold as a deluxe room and did not quite feel like one.
The hotel has limited facilities beyond the restaurant, so do not expect a spa or gym. Even so, I would strongly recommend it to anyone looking for a good quality, comfortable stay in a beautiful setting, away from the crowds of Flåm."
"From the reviews I thought there was no elevator but actually there was one! So third floor was lovely. Yes a ship was blocking the fancy view but it was so cool to watch it pull away so we were lucky to see one but have it leave. Our room was renovated because it had nice phone chargers built into the wall by the bed which is awesome. No frills like I wish there was a little tiny fridge but it’s priced fine. Front desk wasn’t very friendly and didn’t offer the WiFi password so had to go back down to get it. Would make sense to have it on the key card or in the room. It’s as tiny town with not much to do but we loved the one night stay and breakfast was fine, nothing special but quite a spread. Shower felt great but water gets everywhere without a proper curtain but that’s typical design. I just feel bad leaving all these wet towels on the floor. Easy parking but I did notice it filled up quickly by evening so earlier arrival makes it smoother."
"Perfect location. You really should stay in Flam for the train/ship tours. The Viking restaurant was excellent. The other one with the hotel was OK.
Breakfast was the only disappointment. Cold eggs & waffles. But there was enough of a selection to get around this."
"This a charming, beautiful old farm property high on a hill just outside Voss. The staff could not be nicer. Dinner at the restaurant is a "can't miss.""
"Very well maintained, excellent location, if you are vegetarian dinner options are very limited almost none, breakfast has good options, must try nearby pizza shop"
