We LOVED this resort! Beautiful view, friendly staff, great food right on site, safe area. We drove to Indiana to go to a concert in Shipshewana. So glad we chose to stay here, so worth the short drive to the concert venue. If we ever go back to Indiana, we will plan it around staying here!

Oakwood Resort offered a peaceful and relaxing stay, made even more special by the beautiful view of the lake right from our room. The only aspect that felt out of place was the refrigerator—it stood openly in the room and would have looked more cohesive tucked into a cabinet that matched the furnishings.

We love Oakwood Resort! We sat at the Tiki Bar and enjoyed the water! We ate dinner at the outside restaurant and had fabulous food and service! We enjoyed the blues music being played outside and watching the families enjoying the bon fire!

We were pretty comfortable. Black out shades would be good as a lot of light came into our room from the hallway around the corner leading to the restaurant. We were told the room would be cleaned every day, not a big deal to us, but it wasn’t although we were gone all afternoon both days with no sign on door. The breakfast was very good. Enjoyed the lakefront setting.

Not quite as advertised

The hotel setting was better than the interior. The toilet flushed very poorly - weak and slow. The room had only one chair which made the bed the only other place to sit. For the price of the room one would expect glass rather than plastic cups and more than one serving of coffee. The carpeted stairs were stained with what looked like ongoing construction. The quality of the non weekend “breakfast” mocks the word breakfast. Other than that the views were wonderful, the bed and room temperature was very comfortable and the staff was friendly and accommodating. Would we stay there again- probably.

Pretty setting

Great setting on the lake . Spacious clean rooms . Breakfast was limited . Just apples cereal bars and coffee . Friendly staff and for people with small children there is a games room . Very close to the town centre

We've stayed at Oakwood a few times and it's always very clean, comfortable and well kept. However, this time we noticed that the air vent on our room was rusty and the flooring was coming loose and made funky slapping noises as we walked around our room. It seems like upkeep has gone a little downhill lately. That's sad to see because we really like staying here.
