The hotel is ok to stay with the good cost. I met some nice people during my stay.
It would be great if you could provide some basic/better stuffs for the kitchen such as kettle, some dishes, ect.
My bed was taken when I got back ryan Merlini, no place to sleep

Initially my experience was not good but after a day, manager Shato helped us a lot and other guests. He ensured to have cleaning and listened to our suggestions of improving. I must appreciate his approach.
With those suggestions, if implemented properly, I truly believe that DC Hostel will improve.
Best of Luck DC International Hostel 2.
I give them a 1 on there service because it sucks!
I didn't enjoy my say there the people that run the business is unprofessional and being rude because of the color of my skin I won't recommend anybody else to book there if you can save your money!
We had the worst experience ever, its a horribel place and the people dont Care about it. We left after one Night because our backs where hurting after a hard and horribel bed. There where dirty and grosse every where. No air condition or Windows in our room. No soap, hand towels in the bathroom and the lock to the bathroom dosent Work. It was so nasty!!! We have never tried anything worst like This!! We had paid for 5 nights, but we cancelled our reservation after one Night! But the emoloyes didnt Care about What we weed saying. We still paid for all five Nights, he didnt listen and was very rude to us and all the other guest!
Owner's nice enough, but the ability to conduct personal hygiene leaves much to be desired. Mattresses are all severely overdue to be replaced between serviceability and age. Shower water was always ice cold no matter what direction the faucet was turned. Any and all liquid soap was watered down; which is surprising considering we just went through a pandemic where just about everyone learned that you don't water down soap. Ever. Toilet paper takes roughly a business day to replace. Absolutely no paper towels at all. Ended up buying my own bad soap, paper towels, toilet paper, etc. so I could conduct what I thought was an acceptable level of hygiene. Cleaning that gets done is with minimal work/effort. Bedsheets also stand to be replaced based on how raggedy some of them are.
I've stayed in hostels before. This is not a typical hostel experience; at least when comparing to hostels in Europe. If you're looking for a place to stay in DC without spending over 100 a night a hostel is the way to go, but bring your own cleaning/hygiene supplies.
This place was not good in any sense of the word. Maybe it's because I'm 6'2" with tattoos but i was told I had to schedule a time to use the bathroom as if I know when I'm going to need to urinate or have a bowel movement. Mattress seemed to be two yoga mats together and someone was living in the hostel. Yes, living. There was no bedroom fan or air conditioning and the place needed to be swept, mopped, dusted and vacuumed to even be considered clean but the walls needed to be washed, blinds needed to be fixed and door handles on doors to make this anyone stay at this place.
Poorly run, none of the amenities work, maintenance and cleanliness of the bathrooms etc wasn’t good either, flies in the shower and the whole place smells pretty bad in general. Didn’t feel safe in the place and didn’t trust the people I was staying with to leave my stuff there.
No hot water, no water fountain, no breakfast, but bunch of homeless people

Disliked: Amenities
There was no toilet paper neither paper towel on the restrooms, if you need to use, you must have some with you;
There is no locker to your personal items be locked while you are sleeping;
The shared bedrooms are mixed so make sure to align your expectations;
The access is just by stairs and all the bedrooms have extra stairs to access, so if you do have mobility issues you cannot consider this place;
There is a small kitchen that you can use to cook your food if you plan to.
Crowded old property, the room that I stayed inside has no air whatsoever,no windows, I had to open the door in the middle of the night to get some fresh air. neighbors are burning smelly sticks that makes situation worst!

It was ok
It was ok, bed a little noisy, and they worked on the electric so it was out from, 10:30 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., and there was no hot water in the bathroom.
the area that it is located in is a decent one, the guy checking me in seemed friendly enough, but after I payed I walked into the room to check it out and immediately look down and see dead , squashed bed bugs all over the floor next to the bed I was about to take. I did a u-turn and slept in my rental car parked in front of the building. Nasty place, clean it up!!
I liked the fact that it is only one block from major grocery store and easy to get to bus for metro and getting to events and museums. Great location.

There was an upside down American flag in the main area that made me feel unwelcome. I ended up not even staying the night.
