"The hotel was convenient for us on a long trip from north to south and had rooms available when we were ready to stop. The price was reasonable."

"I checked in around 3 pm. A female receptionist came out as soon as I enter the lobby. Lobby was clean and smelled nice. I did not receive welcome gifts. The next morning there were bunch of welcome bags sitting the back of the front desk so definitely not out of stock. I do not know why the receptionist did not give to me. I was charged $20 when checked in and told that it will be refunded at the time of check out. When checking out, I was told that it will take a couple of days. Now I have to...

"We stayed in Room 3, if the other rooms were as great as ours then it would be hard to beat this location. The view of the river and sunset were awesome. The restaurant service would be hard to beat anywhere and the food was excellent. All in all we loved our stay at Surry Seafood Inn."

"Beautiful historic property in a very cute neighborhood. The restaurant and bars were very well staffed, service was excellent and dinner was delicious, get the coconut cake! I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a nice getaway or en route further south. Hoping for an opportunity to visit again."

"There was lots to do right on site. Corn hole, ping pong, volleyball , mini golf, horseshoes, a pool and a kids playground with a splash pad. Parts of the hotel were a little dated but very clean and well kept. Staff was exceptionally helpful and friendly. So convenient having the shuttles to colonial Williamsburg but also enjoyed being able to walk there as well. Highly recommend! Will stay there again. Great location!"

"The owner, Claudia, was amazing. So helpful and kind. Parking in back was much appreciated, breakfast was freshly made, delicious and served in one of the beautifully decorated common areas. The room was comfortable and clean. The mansion is pre Civil War and furnished accordingly with antiques. If you're looking for modern hotel amenities you will be disappointed, but if you're looking for charm, warmth and a gracious host, you will love Ragland Mansion. Pet friendly as a welcome bonus!"

There was a huge spider on its web and other dead bugs all over the corners, rafters, and stairs and we barely made it up the stairway. We were not informed of the ability to rent a golf cart at check-in and when we called the next morning to see about renting one (after seeing everyone else on them throughout the resort) there weren't any left.
