"We really enjoyed our stay at Colonial Motel. Great location within easy walking distance of town, quiet. Our family unit was modern, clean, spacious and very comfortable, with plenty of room to relax. The host was friendly and welcoming. Overall, excellent accommodation and somewhere we’d happily stay again. Highly recommend!"

We really enjoyed our one night stay here, chosen due to its close proximity to the ferry terminal to Stewart Island. The breakfast was just right and included cooked eggs. Sami was a great host and went above and beyond to accommodate parking requirements and even dropped us at the ferry the morning of our trip. We had slight issues with the carpet being wet (from the shower - previous occupants not using the shower mat) and there was no body wash left, but the views were spectacular and we...

Staff were all so super friendly and very helpful, Airlines lost my baggage so the free use of washer and dryer was a godsend. We got upgraded and our 1 bedroom unit was super comfortable and homely. When I come back home to Invercargill 100% I'll be staying here again now questions.
Thanks to all the staff, Cleaners we great and so nice.
Also was great to be able to cook something as well on the range top.

Almost luxurious with kitchen space and room for three. Perhaps more than actually needed for a single night on transit which is what I required. Close to marvellous civic gardens and museum and in reasonable walking distance of city centre. Easy to locate being close to water tower.

This place is a gem! Noel & Di welcomed us into their home, and it was so lovely after a series of slightly soulless hotels we stayed in during our travels around South Island. It’s a quirky place but all the better for it! We ate at a restaurant called Rocks in Invercargill and the steaks were excellent. Thanks to Noel for his recommendations on the Catlins.

Arrival was easy. Comfortable bed. Good facilities for cooking if needed. We just cooked porridge for breakfast. Fresh milk in the fridge for a cup of tea was a welcome touch after a long day travelling. We only stayed 1 night but would have been happy to stay longer.

Yes, there are holiday rentals close to the most popular sights in West End, or you can select a more secluded option if you're looking for a relaxing stay. West End is known for its seaside and parks. Make sure you have time to check out the art and museums during your trip.
What’s there to see and do in West End?
Enjoy the area's cultural attractions such as The Lighthouse Gallery, or get outdoors into nature at a spot like Stirling Point. In the wider area, you’ll find Bluff Lookout and Teretonga Raceway Park.
What’s a holiday rental in West End like?
Holiday rentals are private properties where you can stay for a few weeks, or just a few days, in West End. Holiday rentals feature amenities like kitchens and laundry facilities so you'll have all the conveniences of home. If you're concerned about a sanitised environment, holiday rentals can offer a sense of privacy away from public hotel lifts and busy reception areas while still allowing you a great travel experience. You'll also have more space in a holiday rental than in a hotel, which is another reason why a holiday rental is an attractive option for small groups.
