Restful break in Whitianga

Whitianga was for a few days respite after a long and hectic tour of NZ. The house was close to the beach and an easy walk to downtown. The house had lots of space and was well equipped.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The apartment was clean and spacious for the two of us, and would have been great for four people also. We appreciated having a washer and dryer for laundry in the unit. Communication with the property managers was great, and they were very helpful in giving recommendations of things to do, places to eat, etc. Parking at the apartment was easy as the unit has its own driveway, and also a garage that is accessible. There are several options for shopping and eating within walking distance. The ferry over to Cook's Beach is also just a short walk away. We would definitely stay here again, and would definitely recommend to others.

Lots of space for me and my 2 children. The kids loved the pool. The place was tidy and clean. The kitchen had everything needed for self catering. We would stay again, very handy, easy place to stay to explore Mercury bay. One thing to note for families is that the room with two single beds was on the ground floor and the two bedrooms with queen beds were on the third floor, not a big deal but my children didn't want to sleep 2 floors away from me.

Overpriced and underdelivered

The unit we stayed in was nice. It was very spacious and had quite a few amenities in the unit. We were able to unpack and enjoy our time here. For the price we paid, we were not that impressed with the view or the cleanliness of the unit. The view of the ocean was a tiny window of view through someone else's backyard. The apartment had been cleaned but there were food bits in the rug in the living area. We were also told that we could request cleaning service throughout our stay but one day they came in and emptied one trash can and another day they didn't come in at all. For the price paid, we expected more and left unimpressed and a bit disappointed.

Home away from home

Friendly greeting on arrival. Townhouse was very modern, clean and comfortable. Excellent location as the beach was barely a 2min walk as was the 4 Square, great cafe and apparently the best Fish and chip shop in town. Lovely heated pool.
