"Good central location for overnight stop in Penrith with parking. Decent size room, reasonably clean and quiet. Stair carpet filthy though needs replacement. Tea and coffee sachets not replenished, tollet roll holder hanging off wall."

"Booked a double room but got a room with 3 single beds. Not the end of the world but not what I booked. Beds were uncomfortable. Mattress was really thin, when you sat on it you were basically sat on the bed base and when you laid on the bed you could feel the springs in your back and side. "All the staff we met were great, cheerfull helpfull and polite. The room was clean and comfortable and what one expects in a very old building. Only 4 stars for 2 reasons the shower only worked on the large head and the food choices were very limited both in the restaurant and at breakfast. No salads and limited vegetables in restaurant.No fruit or cereal at breakfast. The hotel is remote which is part of it's appeal for us so going out in the evening is not an option,I would have struggled...
