Get a prepaid ticket online before you visit. This gets you into the castle quickly, in a separate queue. I joined the queue 45 minutes before it was due to open at 10am. I was eighth in line. I was in the castle at 9.30am, was first into St George’s chapel, was so peacefully, being able to walk around at your own pace.
