"Worst holiday inn we have stayed in. The room was showing its age with missing baseboards and cracked tiles. The carpet was damp and musty and I’m not even sure it has been vacuumed in some time. The bed was surprising nice with very clean linens. Everything else was just very disgusting. Won’t be staying here ever again."
"This was honestly the single worst hotel stay of my entire life. The hotel was dirty (not sure I encountered a clean surface at any point), the entire hotel smelled like weed, nothing was well-maintained, and we were given a room with a non-functional bathroom door. The bottom of the door scraped the floor such that it was nearly impossible to close. And I don’t think we would have wanted to close the bathroom door anyway, because the backside of the door had no handle! They assigned us a room with no door handle. Also, half the electrical outlets and one of the lamps did not work. The entire floor of the hotel room was sticky, even the part that was carpeted. How is that even possible?
Oh, and half the time we walked by the front desk, there was nobody there. One time, it was because the front desk worker who demanded that I sign a paper saying I wouldn’t smoke was outside smoking.
Seriously terrible hotel experience."
"Late arrival and the personnel at the desk was happy to see us and upbeat, great check in after a long travel day. The room seemed clean, but we found roaches in the restroom and on the towels, we could not get comfortable after that. Great location with beautiful view of the MS river, but the facility looks in poor conditions, it does not look like maintenance is last priority. Check out personnel at front desk was great as well."
"Check in lady was friendly and sweet. Good room, not a good view, but we weren’t there but a few hours. Casino staff friendly and helpful. Had a great time."
"This is an ideal stop for those looking to get away from standard, modern hotels. The old house (inc restaurant) is presented very much as it was in its heyday. The complimentary tour was informative and entertains. Most bedrooms are in buildings set around the plantation and thoughtfully decorated but with a/c and good shower facilities.breakfast was limited to a choice of two dishes (plus juice, fruit, etc) perfectly adequate and served in another out building which facilitated a walk through the well maintained and laid out gardens. Well worth it for something different!"
"We were disappointed with the condition of our room. The furnishings were very nice (and realizing it's an historic building) it just looked very tired, the walls, bathroom, etc. At least our room did. In addition there was an adjoining door to the room next door that didn't block the sound at all from that room. You could hear just about everything coming from there.
After coming back from diner we found ourselves locked out of the building as the coded keypad to the front door wasn't operating. Fortunately, there was a couple sitting on the front porch who ran around the back to let us in. The staff while very accommodating blamed the security company for the failure.
We were given a voucher for breakfast. 2 things, first, there wasn't enough seating capacity for everyone to to sit in the dining room. Second, while again the staff was very accommodating it just wasn't worth the $16.00 per person voucher."
